I purred, a smile overtaking my face. “You want to kiss me?”

“Don’t be obtuse. You know you’re beautiful. You’ve managed to hypnotize my entire pack, and I’m not even surprised about that after having spent time with you.” He growled the last part and it sent a little thrill up my back.

“Do you think I’d stop you if you tried for a kiss?”

“That was the assumption I was working under, yes.”

“Can I askanotherquestion that’s guaranteed to make you be weird about it?”

He swallowed hard. “Go for it.”

“What do you think about kissing to get the curiosity out of our systems?”

Parker moved before I could blink, sweeping his hands into my hair as his mouth descended to mine. Desire went off like a firework in my core. I opened my mouth to his questing tongue and let him back me up against the nearest wall.

Holy shit.

Okay, so, Parker knew how to kiss. Didn’t mean he knew how to fuck like his pack mates. I let out an embarrassing little whimper when Parker pulled away as the valet returned and cleared his throat.

“Your keys, sir.”

Parker passed the keys to me, and I pulled myself together—dripping pussy and all—so I could focus on driving. I had tokeep my eyes on the road, but he didn’t, and I felt every scalding caress of his gaze on my skin while I navigated traffic. Driving was a mistake. I couldn’t get finger-fucked while I was in charge of getting us safely to our destination.

“What’s the plan, Clover?” he asked, parroting my earlier question to him.

“What do you want the plan to be?” My heart was racing, my stomach clenching, and my pussy was begging for some attention after that kiss. It was kind of mean for fate to make him a good kisser with such a capacity for being a butthole.

“I think we both know the answer to that,” he replied eventually.

“Are you over hating me?”

“I never hated you. I was a protective idiot who shoved my foot so far into my mouth you could see toes coming out of my ass.”

I laughed at that. “You’re not wrong.”

“If you give me a chance, give the pack a chance, I promise I’ll try to muzzle myself when a stupid thought enters my head. I acknowledge that I fucked up, reiterate that I love my pack more than anything and won’t let them get hurt if I can help it, but I can also admit when I’ve misstepped. I’m sorry for how I spoke to and about you. It wasn’t deserved, and I should have trusted my pack’s judgment when it came to you.”

“Thank you.” I sighed and we turned onto the road to our neighborhood. “I’m not looking for a pack. There’s no nefarious undertone to any of this. I just wanted to get laid, and it all got a hell of a lot more complicated than I expected.”

“Understood.”

“If you treat me with respect, we can have a good time together. If not, you’ll always wonder when the next glitter bomb is going to appear. I have a long memory.”

Parker nodded, looking at me with a mix of concern and barely contained lust.

I pulled to a stop out of sight of the pack house. “Am I coming inside?”

Parker threaded his fingers through my hair, cupping the back of my head to claim my mouth. He dipped lower, teasing along my throat. “I have plenty more apologizing to do, and I’d like to do it just like this.”

I purred as he swept around the car, undid my seatbelt, and tugged me into his arms. I searched his gaze, finding none of the suspicion and irritation from before. “Carry on, then.”

He carried me bridal style toward the pack house, where he slipped around to the back entrance. I stayed quiet, breathlessly awaiting whatever skills Parker possessed.

I wasn’t sure if the others were home, but Parker practically sprinted to his room, ensuring that even if they were, they wouldn’t see us. He set me down on the edge of his bed, and when he leaned in, I flopped back, drawing him with me a half second before the entire room exploded into a glittery pink hurricane.

As the rosy dust settled, I burst out laughing. “I swear this wasn’t me!”

Parker’s eyes were almost vacant. “Are thoselettersin the glitter…?”
