At Consummation, his pupils expanded, swallowing the silver of his iris. His emotions deepened to that sweet and spicy taste I was so addicted to.

My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. “Looking forward to that, are you?” I stepped into his body, plastering myself to his front, his hard cock pressing into my stomach. “Don’t worry, Rema. I’ll be gentle,” I purred, running my hands up his chest.

His upper hands covered mine, stopping my gentle exploration, while his lower settled on my hips. “What if I don’t want you to be gentle? What if I want my taking of you to be rough and hard, until you beg me for mercy?” he growled down at me, his voice a low wisp of silky smoke that wrapped around me.

My brain blanked and all I could do was stare at him, my mouth hanging open. His chuckle snapped me back into real time. “It’s good to see that you can be shocked into silence as well. I will remember that.” His fang flashed when he spoke, and it blanked my mind again. Why were sharp canines so hot? Who decided that was a thing?

“Yeah, well, I can do rough too,” I retorted rather lamely. Dang winged elf had my hormones in the driver's seat and they were drunk.

Rema cupped my cheek in one of his large primary hands. “I don’t doubt that. Do you have any more questions for me before I leave? I will see you at dinner if you don’t.”

I had a billion questions, but I wanted the raw nitty-gritty details and I’d tortured the male enough for today.

Turning my face into his hand to plant a soft kiss to his palm, I took a small step back from him, his hands on my hips falling away with a lingering caress. “Nah, I’m sure Lady Lyees will fill me in. Go on ahead and get ready, I’ll see you soon.”

He looked behind him at the door and then back at me, his upper fang worrying his bottom lip. “Are you sure you will bealright? I will be just across the hall if you need me. You can always call me on your link as well, remember?”

I huffed a laugh, giving him a gentle push towards the door. “I’ll be fine, Rema. If your cousins fuck with me, I’ll just stab them.”

The door slid open as we neared, with me pushing him backwards out into the hall with my hands on his chest.

He gave me a cross look. “No stabbing.”

I grinned as he bowed slightly to the waiting females and waited until he was in the doorway of his room before answering. “No promises.”

His deep frown was the last thing I saw before his door closed him inside.

With him gone, the taste of emotions in the hall blended together into a sick jumble of jealousy, hatred, and some weird burnt flavor that I wasn’t sure what emotion belonged to. The gentle sweetness of Lyees’s emotions were lost under the hostile nature of the others with her.

I glared at the group. In addition to Rema’s two cousins, there were three other females standing behind Lyees. There was a fire engine red haired lady with soft green wings, shorter and curvier than all the others. She had the straightest hair I’d ever seen, falling to her waist in a heavy curtain, with huge sapphire colored eyes that were currently trying their hardest to set me on fire with the power of her glare. Her emotions were all jealousy and ill intentions. I hated her on sight.

Then there were identical twins, each with glorious hot pink wings that faded to white near the bottom, and teal hair in massive curls that nearly touched the floor behind them. Their sharp faces were set in neutral lines, but the deep green of their eyes betrayed the contempt they were trying to hide. They were slim, with their small breasts exposed behind the sheer black wrap dresses they wore. Their pierced nipples clearly visible.Someone had come to impress a certain sexy, and violently taken male, and they were angry he hadn’t noticed them.

It was a good thing I hadn’t promised not to stab anyone. I’d have been a filthy, filthyliar.

The Lady Lyees took a step towards me, her soft smile firmly in place, though the skin around her eyes was tight. The closer she got to me, the more I could sift through the other’s emotions and focus on hers. She was still welcoming, hopeful, and all around nice, but the edge of annoyance was there. I just didn’t know if it was with me, Rema or the other ladies.

“Lady Patty Dells, it is such a pleasure to meet you,” she said, reaching out one of her claw tipped hands, palm up in front of her, and bowed over it. “I am here to assist you in any way I can while you enjoy the Ceremony. If you wouldn't mind inviting me inside, I can explain to you what to expect.” She smiled stiffly. “You can dismiss the others if you would just like to speak to me.”

Hmm dismiss them and look weak, or invite them in and maybe commit murder? Choices, choices.

“Oh, no! They are more than welcome to come inside. There is tea and yummy snacks waiting for us. Please, do come in,” I told them, all sweetness and smiles while I held my arm out to the room for them to enter before me.

Lyees tilted her head with a frown touching the corners of her mouth, and my smile widened. Nothing to see here, lady. Just a perfectly sane human woman inviting you in for tea. There is nothing to fear. Ignore the scales and the crazy.

“If you are sure,” Lyees said, gliding past me on graceful feet, her gold wings tucked in close to her body so she didn’t brush against me as she passed. The harpies followed after her, some shooting me nasty looks as they passed, while the twins pretended I wasn’t there. How nice to know that mean girls existed everywhere. When Rema and I escaped this planet, I wasgoing to have a really long talk about evolution with Dr. Ghix. Or maybe Anu would be a better person to ask, since she was old as fuck.

With a shrug of one shoulder, I turned into the room feeling the door slip closed behind me. The harpies had taken their seats in two of the couches in the sitting area, while Lyees was pouring tea at the buffet. She took a small orb out of the pocket of her dress and sat it on the buffet before loading each delicate little silver cup onto a wooden serving tray, moving it with that fluid grace I remembered seeing in period movies as she carried the tray over to the coffee table and sat it down without spilling a single drop.

“There, now we are settled,” she said, taking a cup into her upper left hand as she took her seat, her lower hands smoothing her dress into place as she did. Having four hands looked so… handy. Bah da dum tss.

I ignored the cups as I took my seat, settling as much as I could against the low back of the couches. All the seating in this palace was built to accommodate massive wings, and it wasn’t very comfortable to sit as a non-wing person unless you enjoyed practicing good posture.

All of the ladies seemed to be of the same mind when it came to sitting ramrod straight… so I leaned forward, bracing my elbows on my knees and grinned at Lyees.

“So, explain to me about tomorrow. What should I expect?”

A sharp flavor coated my tongue and it took me several seconds to decide what it was. Smugness I thought. One of the harpies was very pleased that I was an uncouth heathen with my poor posture. Just wait until they knew me a little better, I could be so much worse.
