I flicked my ears back against the sound and waited. Only a few minutes of screaming bloody murder had the door opening and two shark aliens stepped into the hold. The door closed behind them before they figured out the lights weren’t working.
I jumped.
The girls were still screaming when I tore into the aliens with fang and claw.
The first alien hadn’t seen me coming at all and I nearly decapitated him with a single swipe. Warm fishy smelling blood sprayed all over me.
The second alien warbled in alarm and raised his gun to shoot me. I jerked it out of his hands and tossed it behind me.
He turned to run and I grabbed him by his skinny shoulders. I lifted him up, cramming his creepy head into my jaws and bit down. His head crunched like a grape, flooding my mouth with brain, blood, and bone. It tasted just like fish!
I’d been hungry forever!
I tossed him to the floor and started eating the rest of him in a frenzy. Tearing his clothes and biting into his soft stomach.
I was glad the lights were off or it would scar these ladies for life.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to eat the whole of him. His weird ass organs were going to have to do. His heart hadnotbeen where I thought it would be.
The screaming had stopped and the only sound on the hold was the squelching sound of me chewing.
“Um, Jack?” Callie called from her cage, her voice uncertain.
I swallowed and stood. Right. Less gorging and more escaping. The door was closed, so I turned and found the nearly headless corpse of the first alien and held it up to the wall. The door slid open.Success!Grinning, I dropped the corpse and started wrenching cages open until I got to Callie’s.
“Were you eating it?” She asked. She sounded sick.
“Hungry,” I said with a shrug. I would not make excuses for what I was.
“That’s gross, Jack. You don’t know where he’s been!” Patty said, laughing. She patted my arm as she squeezed past me, completely unbothered by the blood and gore all over me.
Die. For. Her.
The women were moving into the first few cages to be together. Holding each other and avoiding looking at the disemboweled half eaten corpse in front of the door, being illuminated like some trophy for all to see by the ray of light shining in from outside.
Sam, Patty, and Callie followed me to the door. I reached down and slid my snack alien out of the way and picked up the gun, placing it in Callie’s hand.
She gripped it like a professional and gave me a nod.
“I’ll be back,” I said with a toothy grin. I couldn’t manage the accent with this mouth, but the open-mouthed way I had to talk gave it the same effect.
Sam and Patty snickered.
“Go get ‘em!” Sam said. She was a little green around the gills.
Maybe I shouldn’t have eaten the alien.
Patty mouthed for me to be careful and gave me a thumbs up.
“Fuck them up!” one of the other girls called out and chuckles filled the room.
Aw. That warmed my heart. I picked the corpse up again and walked out the door.
Chapter 3
The passage outside our hold was huge. The ceiling was much taller, so I could finally stand at my full height and my spine cracked in several places when I did. Why were there different ceiling heights? To make it more uncomfortable for tall, beautiful women? What a weird design flaw for an alien spaceship.
There were other doors lining the wall along the same side as ours. The other wall was just pipes and metal. Smooth metal floors disappeared around a rounded bend.F
