I flicked my eyes to Ohem. He’d let his armor flow back over his body, his cock hidden from sight. I wanted to mourn that fact. Holding a funeral for it and everything.

I growled and went to get my clothes from the ground where I’d dropped them and put them on.

Ohem watched me dress. His eyes narrowed to thin lines, then turned and stalked off towards the wreck. I watched him go, following the wide set of his shoulders, down his back to his twisting tail. His tentacles were waving wildly around him. It was turning me on so much that he was so frustrated. It made me feel a little better about my suffering. At least I wasn’t alone in it. I ground my teeth until they hurt and set to figuring out how to take care of Callie.

Chapter 9

Ohem ended up finding the perfect solution.

He’d ripped a six foot long strip of metal off the hull of the container in pure frustration, discovered it would work as a cot, and dragged it back to camp. It was four feet wide and had several thick cables on the underside that we could use to drag it along with Callie resting on the top. We placed the metal sled as close to Callie’s body as we could get it, and then carefully shifted her onto it.

Sam and Patty ripped the long sleeves off their tops and wrapped them around their feet to protect them from the hot desert ground. Ohem bent some metal with his hands and then hammered it with a rock, shaping it into a crude, misshapen bucket we filled with water from the lake. It leaked, so we tore strips from my pants and stuffed them inside to plug any weak points.

With Ohem pulling the sled, and me carrying the heavy water bucket, we started walking. The twin suns cooked us from above, making the slow progression miserable for the women. We had to make frequent stops to let them rest and drink the muddy water, forcing some of it down Callie’s throat.

Our skin was burning under the suns and my lips were cracking, just to heal and then crack again. It was annoying as hell. The sweat gathering under my boobs was making me chaff and driving me mad.

Patty tore off her pant legs below the knee and made head coverings for her and Sam. She tore another strip of fabric from around her waist and wrapped Calli’s face, leaving only her nose uncovered.

Sam collapsed first. I dunked her head covering into the water, re-wrapped it around her head and face, and draped her over my shoulder in a fireman’s carry. I picked the water bucket back up in one arm and wrapped the other around Sam’s leg.

We walked for another hour before Patty collapsed, too. Ohem wrapped one of his tentacles around her and curled her into his back. I poured what was left of the water over her head that was resting against his shoulder blade. I set the bucket next to Calli’s hip and shifted Sam so I could carry her bridal style to make her more comfortable.

We went much faster carrying the women. It was still miserable. By the time the trees could be seen, I was ready to collapse myself.

I led the way past my killing ground and into the canyon mouth. The shade was a welcomed relief. My skin was on fire from a wicked sunburn, but it was healing as we walked, and I knew the others would be miserable until their nanos caught up.

When we came around the bend into the oasis, I walked straight to the pool and sat down in it. I placed Sam on my lap, an arm against her back to keep her upper body out of the water. Dirt and filth clouded the water around us and I lowered my arm, easing her upper body closer to the water so I could dip her head to rinse her hair and splash her face. She groaned, her eyes flickered open. I grinned down at her and kept washing her hair, letting my nails scrape her scalp. She waved the arm not tucked against my stomach in the water lazily.

“That feels amazing,” she murmured, closing her eyes again.

A splash to my right made me turn to see Ohem lowering a disoriented Patty into the water next to me. I stopped scrubbing Sam’s hair so I could reach and steady Patty with my hand to her back. She sighed and leaned her head against my shoulder. Her eyes were still a little dazed, and we sat there while Ohem situated Callie in a cool spot in the shade.

He picked up the bucket, went to the water’s edge to fill it, and walked back to splash a little over Callie to cool her, and lifted her head to coax water into her mouth. When he was done, he sat the bucket next to her sled. He turned and dove headfirst into our pool with almost no splash. The water was crystal clear, giving us an unobstructed view of him gliding around like the Loch Ness Monster. He moved like an alligator, using his tails to push himself along.

He swam in circles underwater before surfacing a few feet in front of us.

“Ten points!” Patty said, holding up her fist like she had a sign in hand.

Sam laughed and sat up in my lap. She stood, wobbled for a second, and dove in next to Ohem, surfacing quickly and backstroking around the large pool.

I looked at Patty. “Are you steady enough to swim?”

She shrugged and went to stand. She would have fallen over if I hadn’t stood with her and kept my hand on her back. I snorted out a laugh, scooped her up in my arms, and jumped. She shrieked and clutched her arms around my neck. We hit the water with an enormous splash. Patty sputtered when our heads broke the surface, laughing and coughing. She wriggled out of my arms and turned to float on her back, smiling up at the sky. I kept a sharp eye on them in case one fainted.

The pool we swam in was the largest of the many here, clear blue water that deepened into a black hole below us. The waterfall crashed into a shallower pool three tiers above, with each pool pouring into the next, until they flowed into ours from all sides. The sounds of the waterfall mixed with our laughter echoed all around us.

It was a much needed moment of fun. We swam, splashing each other, jumped from the high pools, and played. Forgetting for a moment that we were stranded and possibly being hunted.

Ohem swam close around me, sliding his hands across my stomach and up my back. He pulled me into him and I wrapped my arms around his neck, legs around his waist.

He swam us backwards out of the middle where it was deep, until the water was only chest high. He ran his hands up my thighs and palmed my ass. I ground my core into his stomach. He still had his armor or he could be balls deep right now. I was bitterly disappointed by that fact.

Patty swam past us and walked out of the water, looking back and smiling. “We’re gonna go collect some spines and leaves from the trees. See if we can’t get a fire going to cook that meat you have stashed. We’ll be back in an hour or two,” she said, winking at me. Sam followed her out of the water and together they left the oasis. Left us alone but for an unconscious Callie. We were alone. I blinked at Ohem. A slow smile spread across my face.

We were alone!

I wasted no time. I ground myself harder against Ohem and wrapped my hand around one horn to pull his head down to mine so I could press my mouth to his. He groaned and slipped his tongue between my lips.
