But that small smile doesn’t leave his face at my teasing. I grin right back at him, still high from the most satisfying release I’ve ever had.
He’s a mess, just like me, and he fishes in my trunk for one of the clean towels I use to drape over the cat traps. I pull my skirt down and he wipes at my thighs tenderly with the towel, then rubs his own face with it.
“There’s pet wipes too, if you want to clean your face off,” I smirk, and he quirks his lip.
“I’ll wear it as a souvenir. Make Ryland and Rowan jealous.”
I raise an eyebrow. “That’s pretty gross.”
He shrugs. “I finally got to taste you; I’m not washing any of you off of me until I have to.”
He’s dead serious when he says it, too. There’s no hint of humor in his voice.
“Oh.” I manage to say. “I expected more of the freakiness to be from Rowan.”
“I can be freaky when I need to be,” he deadpans.
And damn it all, I giggle.
I actually let out a light, airy giggle, something I haven’t done in years.
I almost feel like the old Blair again. Someone not as hard at the edges and who doesn’t have walls around her at all times.
And all it took was an orgasm from my scent match in the parking lot of a bar.
“I need to go home,” I murmur. “Check on the cats.”
There’s a slight flicker of disappointment on Travis’s face, but it fades almost as soon as I catch it.
“Do you want me to follow you home?” he asks carefully. “Just to make sure you get home safely.”
The way he asks it makes my heart ache.
He’s sincere, his eyes soft, and his face slightly concerned.
I know he would come in if I invited him.
But he’s asking if I would have an easier time driving if he followed me.
“I wish it wasn’t like that,” I admit. “I wish you didn’t have to know that part about me.”
“I’m glad you shared it with me.”
Smoothing my skirt and adjusting my top, I step out of the car and place my cheek against Travis’s chest. I breathe him in, listening to his heartbeat as his arms wrap around my waist.
“Yeah,” I say finally. “I wouldn’t mind you following me.”
He kisses the top of my head.
