I nodded, "Yes, I don't feel the strong need and heat either."
We lay there looking at each other for a minute. Then he smiled at me. "Are you really five thousand years old? BecauseI have to tell you, you are robbing the cradle with me being a hundred and three."
I laughed loudly and smiled brightly at him. "Yes, I’m a little over five thousand, and have been waiting for you for a very, very long time. I truly hope you like older men." I continued to smile at him. I was the happiest I had ever been.
He chuckled. "Yeah, I can live with it, but out of curiosity how old do dragons get?"
"Dragons are immortal; this doesn't mean we can't be killed. It just means we don't die of natural causes."
"Wow, so I guess I have eternity with you. Not bad!" He grinned at me.
"So, you're a hundred and three. Have you always been with this coven?" I asked, grinning back. I wanted to know everything about my mate.
He shook his head. "No, my family and birth coven were destroyed by rogues. I was the only member who had escaped them. I was thirteen at the time. I wandered the streets, feeding on rats and stealing anything I could get my hands on. That was how I'd met Stephen and my best friend, Devin. They had been walking through the market one day when I'd tried to snatch Stephen's wallet. He grabbed my hand as I was about to pull the wallet from his pocket," he said.
I looked at him with sad eyes. "I'm sorry about your family.” I paused, thinking for a moment. “If you'd tried to steal Master Stephan's wallet, how did you become part of his coven? He's pretty powerful. I don't think many would have the guts to try stealing from him," I said.
"Trust me. I didn't realize Stephen was a master vampire. Heck, I didn't even realize he was a vampire. I was so desperate. I hadn’t been listening to my senses. When he caught me and dragged me into the alleyway, he was big and imposing. That's when I felt his power. I knew I was in big trouble. So, I did theonly thing I could think of; I got to my knees and begged for my life. I told him everything, how my coven and parents had been killed by rogues. I even told him I was living off rats. By the time I finished, Master Stephen had simply nodded and said to follow him. That was how I had become part of his coven. He saved my life that day and took on the role of parent to me,” my cardia said.
I held him close. "I'm glad you had them. I'm glad you had somebody to help you and guide you," I said sincerely.
"I am too." He smiled, then looked at me. "I never knew dragons existed. I thought they were extinct. What kind of dragon are you? What color are you? Can you breathe fire? Can I meet your dragon?" he asked happily.
I smiled at his excitement, and my dragon rumbled his approval. "You can definitely meet him. He's very eager to meet you. I’m a big gold dragon, and yes, I can breathe fire."
"That's awesome. I can't wait to meet him. You'll have to tell me all about dragons. I love to learn about new things." Joy exploded from him, so much so that it was infectious. My cardia was precious and perfect for me.
"Well, you're going to have to tell me about vampires. Most dragons don't interact with other paranormals. I'm assuming by your tanned skin, you can go into the sun?" I asked.
"Sure, I can tell you all about vampires," he said with a grin, then he was off. I realized my mate liked to talk.
"Like all vampires, I was born one. We live, we grow old, and we die. We're not the undead. Our life span is about a thousand years, and while UV light makes us ill, we don't burst into flames when we come into contact with it. I'm one of the few vampires who can actually be in the sun for a prolonged period. That's why I have a tan. Oh, and we can eat food—in fact, it’s a necessity. About the only thing Hollywood has gotten right about vampires is our need of blood to survive," he said excitedly.
"Why don't dragons interact with other paranormals?" Ben asked.
He asked one of the questions that I didn't want to answer because it would lead to more. Thankfully, I was saved by his growling stomach. He looked up at me sheepishly.
"Sorry, I'm kind of hungry. Since the heat is over, do you think we can shower and get some food?"
"Absolutely. I’m glad they slipped food in through the door. Otherwise, I don't know if I would have had the strength for the bonding," I said, thankful for the reprieve.
"Why wouldn't you have had the strength?" he asked curiously.
"You were very sick, and the venom had spread throughout most of your body. It took a lot of my blood to fight the poison." I got up and started to go to the little bathroom in the infirmary, where there was a decontamination shower. "Why don't you take a shower first? I’ll find you some clothes to wear," I told him.
He got up and came over to me and kissed me. "Thank you for saving my life."
I kissed him back. "I would give every drop of my blood if it meant you would live," I replied truthfully.
He kissed me again, only to be interrupted by the sound of his stomach growling again. I laughed. "Go on, take your shower, then we’ll go for food."
He moved away. Over his shoulder he said, "There should be some scrubs in the cabinet on the far wall."
The shower started and I found the scrubs. I straightened up the room and turned back to the shower in time to see his beautiful, wet body, with the water cascading down as it rinsed the soap off. I couldn’t stop myself. I moved forward and dropped to my knees and licked his tight hole. He moaned loudly as I continued to assault him with my tongue. I spun him andwas not surprised to see his beautiful cock standing proud. I took him down my throat in one fluid motion.
"Yes, God! Suck me!" he cried
I continued to take him deep, relishing the taste of his pre-cum. His hands loosely touched my hair. I could tell he wanted to grab hold. I pulled off and looked up. He was looking down in my eyes.
