Shit, shit, shit.Whydid I mention anything? Now, both my mates were glaring at me.

“There’s no fucking way I’ll share either of you,” Colin growled.

“Damn, straight. If that’s something you want, we can forget this whole damn thing,” Reggie chimed in.

“I’m not saying I want that. I never said that. I just wanted to explain some differences for the Fae. Even when it comes to the paranormal world, we’re considered oddballs,” I quickly said.

“So, you don’t want to sleep with other people?” Reggie said, indignation lacing his tone.

“No, sweetheart.” I paused and locked my gaze on Colin. “No,” I repeated. I focused back on Reggie. “I just wanted to explain how things are with the Fae. The main point I was trying to make was that we're very sexual beings. We’re not shy about sex, and it wouldn’t be uncommon for things like that to happen.”

The rigidness of Reggie’s posture relaxed, and the fire in Colin’s eyes dimmed.

“Okay, so long as that’s not what you’re expecting. I can deal with it. I know I’m still getting used to things, but we’re exclusive. Period.” Reggie’s stern expression was back, and I nodded. I didn’t want to be with anyone else. He didn’t need to worry about that.

Reggie nodded back. “There are a lot of things I don’t know....” Reggie paused and looked at Colin. “And obviously, things Colin needs to know, too.”

“You got that right. Even the thought of you two with anyone else…” Colin said.

I grinned. “I promise, I don’t want to be with anyone else. As far as I’m concerned, you two are the only ones for me, now and always.”

For a moment, the room was heavy with silence. Reggie caught my eye, his gaze softening in understanding, while Colin let out a quiet breath, the tension easing from his frame. I smiled again and looked down at my plate. “This meal smells delicious. I’m anxious to tryranch.”

Reggie giggled. “You’re going to love it.” He looked at Colin. “It does smell delicious.”

“I hope you like it,” Colin replied, picking up his fork.

My stomach growled as I grabbed my cutlery and dug in. The tangy zing of the dish burst over my tongue. It was fucking amazing. This was something we didn’t have in the Fae realm, and we definitely needed it.

“I take it you like it.” Mirth filled Colin’s tone.

I stopped chewing and jerked my head up. “By the sounds you’re making, you’re obviously enjoying it.”

Heat filled my cheeks. I didn’t realize I was making noises. “Sorry, I…”

Colin raised his hand. “Nothing to apologize for. The noises were making me hard and are sexy as fuck.”

Reggie nodded rapidly. “Sexy as fuck.”

I laughed before answering, “It’s fabulous. I’ve never tasted something so wonderful. It’s creamy, tangy, herby, and peppery all at once. Not to mention the bacon chicken…mmmm, there are no words. We need this in the Fae realm.”

“You don’t have this type of food in the…Fae realm?” Reggie asked as I took another bite.

I shook my head. “Nothing like this. We’re really missing out. Granted, we don’t often come to the human realm. In fact, the Fae need permission to come here.”

“I didn’t know that. I thought you could just pop in and out,” Colin said.

“No, you need special permission from the king. Since the great war, it’s been part of the peace terms.”

“Great war?” “Peace terms?” Colin and Reggie asked at the same time.

I swallowed another bite and took a drink before answering. “A very long time ago, a little over seven thousand years ago.” I looked at Reggie. “Fae years, I think it’s like three or four thousand in human years. I’m sure one of the dragons could tell us exactly if we really want to know.”

“I’m sorry, dragons? Like real dragons?” Reggie asked.

I grinned. “Yep, real dragons, it was them we had the war with.”
