Reggie shook his head. “No, they were mad. They called me….” He squeezed his eyes tight as more tears poured down.
They hurt and scared my spark. I’d kill them. My magic surged, and Reggie jumped back. “Hey, it’s okay. I’m not mad at you, sweetheart. I promise. I’m mad that my friends scared you.” I grabbed his hand before pulling him down into my arms. He looked stunned to be on the bed.
I couldn’t stop myself. I leaned down and pressed my lips to his. Reggie moaned into my mouth, and I reveled in his taste. It was like nothing I’d ever experienced. His hands moved around my shoulders, and I pressed into his embrace.
“That’s so fucking hot.” A voice filled the space and Reggie pulled back. I looked up.
My heart stopped. Colin’s light green eyes met mine. He was just as stunning as I remembered. I knew we had a lot to talk about, but him joining us was all I could think of. I lifted my hand out to him.
He smiled and hurried to our sides before he leaned down and captured my mouth in a kiss. I was now the one to moan into the kiss. Reggie was right; the experience of having Colin was the same but different.
I hissed and pulled back. Reggie had freed my aching dick from under the covers. He took a firm grip and slid his fist over my flesh.
“Oh fuck! Like that, sweetheart,” I said as my head fell back.
Colin leaned forward and kissed my lips again. He moved slowly to my neck. The dual sensation of having both my sparks pleasuring me was almost too much. I thought I would explode in total ecstasy. Colin continued to kiss my neck while Reggie moved to suck my dick.
“No!” I yelled and pushed them back. I placed my hand on my neck and rubbed it. My heart pounded and I was frozen in terror. I scrunched my eyes and shook my head. “No, no, no….” I could say no more. The feeling of Colin’s fangs scraping my neck brought the terror of my attack to the forefront. In my heart, I knew he wouldn’t hurt me, but it was another story in my mind.
I opened my eyes and couldn’t stop my chin from quivering. Tears blurred my vision, but I saw the stunned and hurt expressions on my sparks’ faces. I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. How did I tell them? How would I bond with them? How could I trust a vampire? Even if he was my spark.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered. “I’m sorry.”
“What happened,mon petit?” Colin said.
“I’m sorry,” I said again, still trembling.
“It’s okay, mon petit. I feel your fear. Please, how could we help?” Colin asked.
"You…your…" I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. There was no way I could explain while I was still panicking. I needed to calm down. I need to remember these were my sparks.
“My what,mon petit?” Colin asked.
I squeezed my eyes tighter. I didn’t want to answer. I didn’t want to hurt him more than I had already.
I jerked my eyes open at a soft touch. Reggie was close to my side and softly ran his hand over my arm. “We’re here. We’re—”
“What the fuck is going on?”
I turned toward the door. Colin jerked around and hissed while Reggie jumped in front of me. I didn’t know why Gavin looked furious or why Colin would hiss at my prince. It didn’t make sense.
“I told you to stay away from him,” Gavin shouted. His violet eyes burned bright with his magic.
Zin stood beside him, and my other friends and my king stood behind them. What the hell is happening? The power was nearly overwhelming. I felt Reggie’s fear and remembered how he said they were mean to him.
“What is that fat—”
“Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!” Reggie yelled, cutting Gavin’s words off. Reggie stomped past Colin, who stared at him in surprise.
Reggie’s face reddened, his eyes flashing with years of pent-up anger. “I’ve had it!” he spat out, voice trembling with emotion. “All my life, I’ve been called fat. All. My. Life. And who do you think you are?” He jabbed a finger sharply into Gavin’s chest, his voice growing fiercer. “I could throw insults too, you know. Point out those pointy ears or any other thing. But that’s not who I am.”
Gavin’s mouth dropped open, his usually commanding eyes widening in shock. He appeared momentarily at a loss for words, clearly taken aback by Reggie’s outburst. But before he could recover, his father, my king, intervened. “Now, you—”
“Shut it, sparkles!” Reggie snapped. “I’m done. I can’t take it anymore.”
King Gael’s eyebrows shot up, his regal composure faltering for a moment. The word “sparkles” seemed to hang in the air, and a ripple of surprise passed through the room. His usually stern face displayed a rare moment of genuine shock. “Excuse me?” he finally managed to say, voice dripping with disbelief.
“Mon chou,” Colin said at the same time.
