He tells me and I am taken aback.
“You’re ok with this?”
“Who am I to deny my son of loving someone?”
He says as he turns to sit back at his desk. I look at him and can’t say anything. I am in shock.
“Was there anything else?”
he asked me.
“No sir, I’ll leave now.”
I tell him as I nod and walk away. As I close the doors, I see him gripping his pen so hard his knuckles turn white and smirk.

I wake up, with my head pounding. It had been two weeks since I found out what Adonis was hiding from me, I had locked myself in my room, my mother would come and try and talk to me, but I would ignore her. Even my sister checked on me, which was out of the norm for both.
But I guess seeing me come home full-blown crying can shake anyone. I roll on my side as I hear my phone ring, I look and see it is Mary, I sigh knowing I need to talk to them. Liz stops by when she can, and Mary has been trying to get ahold of me.
I sigh and roll away letting it go to voicemail. I can’t face anyone right now. Suddenly my bedroom door swung open.
“I know damn well you did not just send me to voicemail!”
I jump a bit and see Liz and Mary walk into my room. I sigh and try to hide under the covers.
“Please just leave me alone,”
“Mmm no, Lilly you have been cooped up in your room for weeks now! Honestly, you could use a shower.”
Mary tells me and I groan trying to bury myself deeper in my bed.
“Lills, enough is enough.”
Liz says as she pulls the blankets from me.
“You are going to get up, we are going to get dressed and we are all going out tonight.”
She tells me. I know she is right. Adonis hurt me and I don’t know how I can get past this. I sit up in my bed, my hair is a mess, matted a bit in some places. I can smell my B.O. hitting my nose and I shrink back a bit.
“First things first, a shower Lills. Come on up, up.”
Mary tells me as she pulls me from my almost grave plot. I groan again but cooperate with them. I know they only mean well, but am I ready to go out?

“Now just to finish your hair!”
Mary says to me, and I can’t help but feel like a lifeless doll as they dress me to go out tonight.
“Done! Gosh, I still can’t get over how beautiful you are Lilly.”
Liz says as I stand up and give myself the once over. I smile; it has been a bit since I got dressed up. We get into the Uber when it arrives. We got to the nightclub they had been wanting to take me to, and we went in. It's too crowded for my taste but, I know this will make them happy.
“Here Lills!”
Liz hands me a shot and I smile, yeah this is what I need.
