Tingles erupted through me with every press of his mouth against my skin and I stroked my hands through his hair, watching the strong muscles in his shoulders and back ripple and flex as he moved down to my stomach.

After dotting a kiss below my belly button, he looked up at me again, the smile on his lips softer than I’d ever seen before. “I know there’s no one in here yet, but is it weird that I suddenly kind of wish there was?”

“No,” I replied in a voice that was barely above a whisper. “I’m looking forward to it, too, husband.”

I put emphasis on the word and he groaned, sliding back up the length of my body to lay a searing kiss on my lips. “God, it’s sexy when you call me that.”

“What, husband?” I smiled and wrapped my legs around his hips. “I’m glad you like it, because I plan on saying it a lot. Every chance I get.”

“Say it again.”

“Husband,” I whispered against his ear, shivering when I felt him tremble slightly above me. “I think I can do you one better?”

“Doubt it, but I’d love to hear you try?”

I pulled back a little to look into his eyes. “This Mrs. Westwood would really, really like her husband to make love to her.”

A multitude of emotions flickered across his gaze. Then his mouth slammed into mine, and this time, he didn’t stop kissing me until we were both naked, tangled together on the bed. Callum’s skin was hot against my own, his much bigger body completely enveloping mine.

I hooked my legs around his hips again, guiding him into position as we kissed. A soft hiss came out of him when his tip slid through my slick folds, and my entire being tightened with anticipation.

“Fuck, that feels good,” he murmured between kisses. “I’ve never done this without a condom before, so, uh, it might not last long.”

“It doesn’t need to.” I pressed my lips more firmly to his, moaning into his mouth when I felt him position himself at my entrance. “We’ll have our first time together.”

He chuckled, the sound low and warm. “All five seconds of it, together.”

I grinned, but when he thrust into me, my laughter and humor faded into a sea of pleasure that became my entire existence when he started moving. Callum kissed me gently, never releasing my mouth as our bodies came together over and over again.

I gave myself over to him completely, and in the end, I didn’t even know how long either of us had lasted or how long it had been. All I knew was him, and that was all I really wanted to know.

When I felt him swell inside me, his hips stuttering and his kiss breaking for the merest of moments, I let go, immediately flying right over the edge with him. My husband. The man who had given me everything I ever could’ve asked for—and so much more.

CHAPTER 49

CALLUM

Back in San Francisco a few weeks after the wedding, things were starting to feel settled. Like this had been my life for years instead of weeks. I’d officially moved in with Maisie and Brody. My toothbrush now lived right next to hers, my hockey gear with Brody’s in the garage.

Our mornings were a blur of breakfast and getting ready for work. I’d never realized how chaotic mornings with a child could be, but I loved every second of it. In the afternoons, I picked Brody up from hockey practice, and every night, I crawled into bed with my beautiful wife.

Thanksgiving was around the corner, which was also the week of Brody’s championship game. Maisie had jumped right into planning the holiday with my mom like she’d been doing that for years too, and I was still toying with the idea of taking them snowboarding for Christmas.

Start our own traditions.

All things considered, life was damn good. If I would have known marriage to Maisie would be like this, I would have proposed back in college. Just gone right down on one knee, put the solo cup down for a second, and told her she was it for me.

Brody came out of the rink with his bag slung over his shoulder, his cheeks flushed red from the hours he’d spent on the ice and a sheen of sweat on his forehead. I grinned, striding over to take the bag from him once he was a respectable distance from the doors.

Naturally, he didn’t want me coming inside, helping him pack up, and then carrying the bag out for him. Apparently, that would be embarrassing.

I was an embarrassing dad. I loved it.

“Hey, champ,” I said as I wrapped my fingers around the strap of the bag and hoisted it onto my own shoulder instead. “You look exhausted. Good practice?”

“Yeah, it was grueling, but Gage says we’re getting there.”

“Good man.” I popped open the trunk and Brody collapsed into the back seat like he was going to fall asleep right there and then. After making sure he’d remembered to buckle up, I climbed in behind the steering wheel and backed out of the parking space. “Are you up for burgers or should we just head straight home?”
