It’s so bad that no matter how much space I try to put between us, he’s still there. Still pushing to be a part of our lives, and it scares me. I know if he develops feelings for me, it could be a death sentence for him. Silas won’t allow another man to fall for me.
I shake my head, forcing those thoughts away and focusing on what’s happening in front of me. Even though the wedding is the weekend before Halloween and carries that theme, Harley’s dress is elegant. It was the one concession she made. She wanted a cream gown with rustic lace, giving it a boho feel.
I helped her set loose curls in her hair, and they spill down her back. I’m wearing black, and so is Oly. The guys are all in black tuxedos. Not only did Harley have her brother walk her down the aisle, but she asked Cyclops to give her away in her parents’ stead.
As soon as the ceremony ends, the partying starts. I don’t know why I do it, but I take a couple of celebratory shots with Harley. I don’t normally drink, so they hit me harder than expected. I notice Loki and Icarus playing with Oly, keeping her occupied.
“Let’s dance, sugar.” Rylan takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor, where Aftershock and Harley are dancing.
Rylan pulls me into his arms. It’s been so long. I can’t stop the moan that escapes my lips. I’ve missed touching and feeling him against me. We only had one weekend back in July, but it was by far the best weekend I’ve ever had. He was perfect and so attentive to me and my desires.
“Why do you have to be so perfect?” I smile up at him. My grin is too wide, and my head lulls for a moment. Oh shit, maybe I’m more drunk than I thought.
“I’m not perfect, Marnie. I have a lot of flaws.”
“No, you don’t. You’re perfect. I’ve tried so hard not to fall for you, but it’s impossible. I can’t, though. I won’t let you end updead like Jean-Louis. I didn’t love him like I do you. Silas will kill you for that.” I lean into his chest, and his body tightens.
“Baby,” he growls.
Before I know it, I’m thrown over his shoulder, and we’re moving. My head is swimming.
CHAPTER
EIGHT
KODIAK
That’s it. This woman just confessed she loves me. She didn’t love her late husband, but that Silas fucker killed him because or her.
I look over to where Icarus is with Oly.
“You have her?”
“Got her, Prez,” he replies, and I hear Oly ask where I’m taking Momma.
I storm through the house and upstairs to my old bedroom.
My girl is a bit tipsy, and I’m going to use that against her. I don’t care. I’ll do whatever I have to in order to keep her.
I slide her off my shoulder and stand her in front of me. Turning her around, I untie the halter of her black dress, then unzip the lower zipper. The dress slips down to her black heels. She’s standing before me in a pair of black panties and nothing else. Her sexy full breasts uncontained. I suspected when I saw them jiggling that she wasn’t wearing a bra. And seeing the proof almost makes me lose control.
I bend her over my bed, where I used to dream about taking a woman just like her. As soon as she’s in position, I curve overher back, unbuckling my trousers with one hand while the other slides up the side of her body.
“Sugar, I’ve been needing you for so long. But I figured you needed the space. Now you’ve sealed your fate. You love me, and I love you,” I tell her before slipping her soaked panties to the side and sliding into her heat.
We both moan, long and loud.
“Fuck, I missed this tight pussy, baby. Don’t keep me out anymore.”
“Don’t stop, Rylan,” she begs as her hands grip the comforter.
I pull out and slam back into her, pushing her forward. I keep a grip on her hip and hold her tight. She’s going to wear my fingerprints, and I couldn’t care less. I pull her up so her back is to my chest and feel my cock hitting her in a different spot. I twist a nipple between my fingers.
“You going to take this body away from me again? You going to push me away.”
She turns away from me, and I stop thrusting and turn her back to look at me.
“Tell me,” I demand.
