Yup. Knew I didn’t want to know.

It’s not that I don’t want to be a part of this deal. The problem is I want this deal too much.

When Reece came home from her freshman year at college last summer she was like a new person to me. She was no longer my little Reeces Pieces. No, she was some sexy as sin woman I couldn’t take my eyes off of.

And that was the summer she made it her mission to date one of my ranch hands. Saying she needed theexperiencefor college. I was not about to let that shit happen.

Then she asked me to be the one.

Reeces Pieces:Hello? I mean I could bring the blue. If you want to see it first…

Me:No. No, I don't need to see it. > You’re gonna get me murdered and there’s a lot of acreage for a body to be hidden!

Reeces Pieces:You’re no fun. See you tonight!

Who knew my best friend was so damn diabolical?

“Who’s got you smilin’ like that, son? From my experience it usually means a girl is the reason.” Dad jokes loud enough for Mr. Davies to hear.

“You dating, Jaycob? Have we met her yet?”

I choke as they ask about the offending messages I hold in my hand. “No. Not a girl.” They both stop their horses and turn to face me. “I mean it’s not anyone, not that it’s not a… you know what I’m going to stop talking.”

“You sure? Because your mama and I—”

Cutting this line of questioning off I admit a half-truth. “It's just Reece. She’s just texting me about coming home. We’re making plans to see a movie.”

“Oh, that’s good. When is my baby girl coming home?”

The guilt slams into me. Calvin gave me a job when I turned eighteen. He’s taught me most of what I need to know to take over for him when he retires one day. It’s the reason I’ve stayed away from Reece as long as I have these past six months. That and the fact she’s nineteen to my twenty-four. He’d kill me.

My bedroom door opens and the sounds of the party filter in for just a moment until the door is shut.

I really need to talk to Cal about renting one of the cabins. The bunkhouse isn’t for me anymore.

“Get the fuck out. I’m trying to sleep.”

My blanket is peeled back and my eyes pop open as I roll over to see who is in my room.

“Oh, hush. And scooch over. It’s cold as hell in here. Didn’t anyone teach you boys some manners to keep the heat up when you’re havin’ girls over?”

Reece.

“What are you doing here? I thought we made plans for tomorrow for breakfast?”

She slides in next to me, squeezing in close on the twin mattress.

“We do. But Katie dragged me out tonight. I got tired so I came to see if you were home or if you were out with anyone.” Her hand drifts wayward down my chest, stopping at my waistband and my cock takes notice of the soft skin on mine.

“Reece,” I warn.

“What? I’m just snuggling. It’s so cold.” She feigns like she doesn’t know what she’s doing. Her hand brushes over my boxer briefs, causing my cock to jump to life.

I grab her wrist in my hand. “What are you doing?”

“I’m just exploring. No big deal.”

No big deal my ass. This is the biggest deal. This is Reece. My best friend. The most gorgeous woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.
