I nod to myself. “Makes sense. Think the bitch knows where Hailey is?”
“Doubtful. Hailey went missing after you guys rescued me and we brought in Isabella.”
“Yeah, but the video the Mason brothers gave you shows that Hailey was in Las Vegas before you gave yourself over to Isabella.”
“True.” He sighs.
I plop down on the couch and lean forward, running my hand through my hair. By this point, Hooke isn’t going to find her, and we all know it. It’s the fact of locating her body and laying her to rest.
“Kashton?”
“One sec,” I say into the phone and stand when I see Gavin in front of me. I nod to tell him it’s okay to speak.
“She’s doing well. Let me know how she feels in the morning. If you think she needs another one, I’ll swing by and give it to her.”
I walk him to the door, give him some cash, and thank himfor stopping by. As I shut and lock the front door, Haidyn speaks in my ear. “How is Eve?”
“Getting better. I had Gavin come by and give her another IV. She just finished.”
He sighs. “I’ll let you go, but I want to know one thing.”
“What is it?” I ask cautiously, heading back toward the primary suite. I know whatever it is, I don’t want to answer it.
“How deep is she in with Adam?”
I come to a stop at the bedroom and look over her in the bed. She’s sitting up with her back against the headboard, her green eyes looking at her phone. As if she feels me staring, she peers up at me through her lashes. “Trenches,” I answer without letting her know what I’m talking about.
“Motherfucker,” he growls. “I’m going to kill him?—”
“I can handle it,” I interrupt Haidyn. “I’ve been handling it.” She hasn’t had a job since the night of her assignment. I’m not sure if that’s because Adam knows I’m against it or because he knows Eve needs to hide due to someone trying to frame her for the bodies found.
“Kash—”
“Trust me,” I urge.
“I do.” He sighs. “It’s just that…she deserves a brother. One who protects her.”
“And she has one,” I acknowledge. Eve pushes off the covers, getting out of bed. My eyes drop to her long, lean legs and slowly take in her shaved pussy and large breasts. Little bruises dot her body in various places from the spikes inside the restraints from the table in the basement. The vows are still very noticeable on her skin. A reminder that she belongs to me. “But she also has a husband. If I need help, I’ll ask you for it.” I hang up and toss my phone onto the dresser.
She steps into me, leaning her head back, her eyes searching mine. They’re still dilated from the drugs that bastard gave her. “Who was that?”
“How do you feel?” I ask, ignoring her question and pushing hair back from her face.
“Horny.” She bites her bottom lip while undoing my belt.
“What are we going to do about that?” I reach up and start playing with her nipple, loving the way her breath hitches when I give it a light pinch.
Unzipping my jeans, she yanks them down my thighs, along with my boxer briefs. “Whatever you want.”
The room fills with her giggles when I pick her up and toss her onto the bed.
Janice called Eve this morning and asked us to join them for dinner. We couldn’t turn them down. We enter the house and make our way to theformal dining room. We’re ushered to our seats as Elli and Sin sit down across from us.
“How is everyone doing?” Sin’s mother asks, looking around.
We all nod and say good.
“I wish Haidyn and Charlotte could have made it.” Janice frowns. “I know pregnancy can be hard on the body. To be so small and pregnant with three? Poor thing. I felt sorry for her and took her some soup.”
