Will, naturally, is enjoying this way too much, grinning at her like he’s waiting for her to snap.

“Stop stressing,” Liam mutters beside me. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”

I glance at him, but before I can respond, he tilts his head. “Wait—have you ever been in trouble before?”

I shake my head.

Liam sighs, leaning back, stretching out and making himself comfortable. “Figures.” And he turns his head toward me, expression shifting. “You know we need to talk about this stalker situation,

right?”

I tense, but before I can respond, Lilia scoffs. “I still can’t believe you didn’t tell me about that.”

And there it is. The guilt twists in my stomach. I didn’t want anyone else involved. The fewer people who knew, the better. Safer. That’s what I kept telling myself.

Honestly, I probably shouldn’t have told anyone at all.

“Isn’t it great now that we’re working together?” Liam grins, and nudges Will with his elbow. “Isn’t it, Will?”

Will stares blankly at him for a moment, then finally, he shrugs. “It’s super,” he says, though it sounds more sarcastic if anything.

“We should meet at the arc at break, since fifteen minutes isn’t enough time to get to the hospital and back,” Liam suggests, though he has his phone out, probably already texting Kai and Christian about it. So, I guess it really isn’t a suggestion. “Weshould invite Kym, too,” he says after a few seconds, looking up from his phone.

I blink. “What?”

Are they friends?

Even Will has perked up slightly, one eyebrow raised in mild interest. “Is she your friend now?” he says and it’s almost lazy, slow. But there’s something else behind it.

“She’s Addie’s friend,” Liam corrects, before turning to me. “Right?” His eyes hopeful, desperate. Urging me to do what, lie?

Does he want to be friends with Kym that badly?

“Uh,” I start, unsure. “Well… we talk.”

“Good enough.”

Will makes a quiet noise in the back of his throat, something between amusement and disbelief. Liam, unbothered, turns to him. “Do you have an issue with that?”

But Will isn’t looking at Liam. He’s looking at me.

“None at all.”

Something about the way he says it makes me shift uncomfortably in my seat.

“Okay, perfect. I’ll find her after then,” Liam says easily.

I sit there, watching Will out of the corner of my eye. He doesn’t say anything else, just stares down at his fingers, idly picking at the tape on his camera.

What happened between those two?

And do I even want to know?

Knowing Will, and knowing Kym, they probably wouldn’t tell me anyway.

“Did you see Naomi’s face when they suspended her?” Lilia says with a slight smile, probably wanting to shift the topic.

And successfully doing so.
