“I miss them every day. I wish they were here so I could’ve gotten to know them better. I hate that they kept me away for so long.” My hand goes to my belly—something I’ve been doing often since finding out about the pregnancy. “I don’t resent them for their choices, but I won’t make the same ones. My baby isn’t going anywhere.”
“You’re going to make a wonderful mom. And I know you’ll keep Matteo in line.”
He winks playfully, and I laugh.
“Thanks for not throwing a fit when you found out I had fallen in love with your best friend.”
Lorenzo chuckles. “Why would I have been mad? I should thank you. He was already like my brother. Now, he’s family.”
“Time to go,” Bri says. “The ‘Wedding March’is about to start.”
“You ready to become Mrs. Matteo Antonov?” Lorenzo asks, holding his arm out for me to take.
“More than ready.”
Matteo
The music indicatingthat it’s time for the ceremony begins to play, and Bri rushes to her seat. It’s a small wedding, and since Dani’s family only consists of her brother, everyone is spaced out on both sides.
Damien walks out first, carefully holding the pillow carrying our rings. When he makes it to me and his dad, he grins wide, and I ruffle his hair.
“Good job, little man.”
He moves next to his dad, and my attention goes to the back of the room as the music shifts to the “Wedding March.”
The moment Lorenzo and Dani enter the room, it’s as if my lungs cease to work. The air that I need to breathe is sucked out of me. Because, holy shit, she’s so damn stunning.
She links her arm in her brother’s, and then she looks up. When our eyes meet, I know that every moment in my life has led to this one right here. Every heartbreak, devastation, fuckup—it was worth it because it led to Daniella Russo becoming my wife.
“She looks like a princess,” Damien says.
“Yeah, she does,” I agree, watching as my entire life makes her way toward me.
When she and Lorenzo make it to the front, he steps toward me and places her hand in mine. “I know she’s in good hands,” he says, giving me a quick hug. “Welcome to the family, brother.”
Too choked up with emotion to speak, I nod and hug him back. And then I step up to where the officiant is waiting to marry us with Dani’s hands in mine.
“You look stunning,” I tell her before he begins.
She blushes a beautiful shade of pink, and without thinking, I lean in and press my lips to hers.
Somebody clears their throat, and I pull back, realizing I’m fucking this all up.
“Sorry.” I wince, but Dani simply laughs. “You know how hard it is for me to keep my mouth off you. You’re just too desirable.”
“It’s okay,” she says with a laugh. “You can kiss me anytime you want … for the rest of our lives.”
EPILOGUE
Three MonthsLater
Daniella
“Fuck, these tits are perfection.”
Matteo tweaks my nipples, and I push my chest forward, needing more. Always more.
He pulls one into his mouth and sucks on the hardened peak. “Your belly might not have grown as much as you were hoping it would, but these tits did.”
