“Well then let's not waste another minute,” she said, pulling back. “I will be right outside watching two of my favorite people get married.”

She smiled and then she was gone.

I took a couple deep breaths, waiting for the song to start.

The music floated to my ears and I walked out, my eyes immediately going to Paxton.

All the nerves that had been rummaging through my body all day settled when he smiled at me and those sexy dimples came out to play.

“May I have this dance,Mrs. Brewer?”

Paxton slid up behind me while I was talking to Bronson and wrapped his arms around my big belly. He loved touching me but my stomach was something he couldn’t seem to keep his hands off of.

Craning my neck, I looked over my shoulder and met his lips for a soft, quick kiss. “Anything for you, husband.”

“If you’ll excuse us,” I said to Bronson.

“Go, get out of here, your mushy shit is getting to me,” he teased.

“You need to get your groove on,” I told him as Paxton pulled me away.

Bronson didn’t get to answer but I saw a smirk on his face. He really was an amazing guy and I tried endlessly to get him to open up more about Lake or give her a call. He was pretty closed mouth, except to say she wouldn’t want him to and he’d screwed up a long time ago.

“What is that frown for, darlin?” Paxton asked as he took me in his arms and pulled me in close to himself. Well, as close as he could get with my mountain of a belly in our way.

“I’m sorry, I should be nothing but smiles, but was just thinking about something Bronson said earlier about Lake.”

We swayed to the music and I melted when my husband’s dimples winked at me as a smile stretched across his face.

“You, my beautiful wife, are meddling and I bet you’ll have the other ladies in on it in no time.”

I couldn’t deny that he was probably right. I’d already mentioned what I’d seen to the ladies but when I told them what Bronson said I knew they’d be as curious as I was.

“He deserves to be happy,” I said, shrugging my shoulders a little.

Paxton spun me in a small circle and then brought me back into him. “You are as sweet as your baked goodies for worrying about him, sweetheart.”

“Spin me, spin me, Uncle Paxton!” Peyton shouted from beside us.

Peyton was the outgoing one of the twins. Her sister Piper was more quiet-mannered and stood next to her silently looking up at her uncle Paxton, who she adored. It was obvious she also wanted to take a spin with him.

Stepping back out of my husband’s arms so his nieces could get a turn on the makeshift wooden dance floor that had been set up in the yard, I looked down at the girls.

“I think your uncle can twirl you both at the same time, what do you think?”

Piper nodded her head vigorously as Peyton yelled, “Yeah, Uncle Paxton can do anything!”

When I looked back at my guy, the loving smile on his face as he watched the girls was heart-melting. He was going to be the best dad in the world and our little one was going to be one lucky boy or girl.

Paxton grabbed a hand of each of the girls and the spinning began. He glanced up at me and mouthed, ‘I love you.’

Warmth rushed through my body. “I’ll be right here waiting, Mr. Brewer.”

As he danced with the little ones, I glanced around the yard and smiled at the beautiful set up and our amazing friends. Everyone we cared about was there. I wondered for a moment if Paxton was really okay with his mom not being able to see him get married. He said he was and she needed to stay where she was to get help, but I knew it must be hard for him.

The dance floor started to fill up, distracting me from my worrying. Some of my ladies were dancing with their men, the kids were all dancing together, and what really stole my heart was seeing Ruby’s grandfather giving Patience a spin around the dance floor. She may have missed Jett but she had a home with us and we would take care of her.
