I needed this.

Girl time and the famous sleepovers at Alley’s always helped the stress fall off. I still felt guilty that I’d been late the last time when shit hit the fan with poor Ruby, but I couldn’t change the past. I looked around at the ladies and laughed along with everyone as they told stories about Alley and her bats.

Our group was growing.

You know what they say,the more the merrier.

I had to admit though, while I was having a blast I couldn’t help but miss Bodie, Peyton, and Piper. For the first time, I had someone at home that I’d left and that I had to go home to. I’d be crazy lying if I didn’t say in the short time we’d been a unit that I wasn’t completely attached.

And my nose would grow like Pinocchio if I didn’t admit that as hard as I tried to stay positive, I was desperately afraid that this new life would all come crumbling down and I’d lose them.

“Enough about me!” Alley shouted, dragging me from my thoughts and back to the girls. “Let’s get the juicy goods from our newest taken woman.” She looked at me and wiggled her eyebrows causing everyone to bust up laughing.

It wasn’t but a few weeks ago that I wanted to hug her to death for coming to my rescue. Now I wanted to clobber her with her own bat for putting me on the spot. I was joking of course, but I wasn’t used to being in the hot seat and wasn’t expecting the smut that came next. But since Alley was a romance writer, I should have known.

Alley leaned forward with her hands on her elbows. As if listening contently and looking straight at me, she then asked, “So tell us, has your man gone downtown?”

My nose scrunched and my eyes squinted in confusion. When most of the ladies giggled, I wondered what I was missing. When I looked at Patience she seemed as confused as I was.

Good, I’m not alone.

“Of course he’s been downtown. He knows his way around the city by now,” I said with an eye roll as if to say, ‘duh.’

Jurnee took pity on me like the big sister she always tried to be and laid it out. “Honey, she means downtown as in”—with her pointer finger she motioned down her body—“your delicate pink flower.”

My face flushed with embarrassment. “Well geez, what’s with all the code names? Why don’t you just say something I can freaking understand?”

I felt stupid. They always teased that way and sometimes it was a honeypot or something else crazy, but downtown, really?

“Hey, you said he knows his way around the city, but the million-dollar question is does he know his way around your lady bits?” Ruby questioned.

Shaking my head at their insanity, I couldn’t help but laugh. These ladies were too much and they wouldn’t stop until they got answers so I found myself blurting out, “If you must know, Bodie has mapped out all of my downtown with his wicked tongue and knows his way around every part of not only it, but my body too.”

Those lady bits they were talking about heated at the mere mention of how skilled my man was and I found myself missing him even more.

Everyone was in a fit of giggles.

Now I've opened a can of worms.

Once the ladies got going, I was afraid it would never end. Even if they had me in stitches with uncontrollable laughter.

I was saved by the bell.Literally.The doorbell rang five times in rapid succession.

My body tingled with excitement. The five rings were the code that Bodie was at the door so nobody worried. I had no clue what he was doing but I’d be damned if I wasn’t happy something brought him to Alley’s doorstep.

Although once I got a glimpse of him I would probably want more. The women would be proud if they knew what I’d been thinking next.

Maybe he wants to take a trip downtown?

* * *

My belly flutteredat the sight of him.

Alley had gone to the door and I followed behind. Even though the person on the other side knocked five times, she still peaked through the peephole to be safe before opening it. I stood a couple of feet behind her, and as soon my gaze landed on Bodie, I drank him in like I was dying of thirst.

Wanting to jump into his arms, I held my ground trying not to look too desperate but when his eyes met mine and his face lit up with a smile, I couldn’t hold back. Taking the necessary steps to get to my guy and shoving Alley to the side in the process—which she laughed at asking if I was in a big hurry—I launched myself at him and climbed him like a monkey, wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.

“Are you two headed downtown?” Alley, the smartass, asked from behind us.
