Her eyes widened. “Already?”

“What can I say, my wife is hot.” I reached down between us to rub her clit and thought about the fact we hadn’t used protection. I smiled.

“Why are you smiling?”

“I was thinking that we may have gotten an early start on that baby-making we talked about.”

Her eyes got even bigger than they already were and I laughed.

“I love you, Ruby Knight. And I want to make babies with you here and now.”

“Think everyone outside will notice if we don’t come back?” she asked.

I should care, but I didn’t. All I wanted at that moment was my wife right where I had her.

“Nah,” I said.

“Good. I love you too, Mr. Knight. Now let's get to making a mini version of the best man I know.”

“Your wish is my command.”

My wife giggled as I got to work doing just as she asked.

I mentally thanked our wonderful friends and family who I knew would take care of Autumn, as well as handle everything else outside.

Because we didn’t come out ofourroom for the rest of the day or night.

EPILOGUE

Ruby

Our home was hopping once again.

I was standing in the kitchen at the sink willing myself not to cry. It was another moment in my life where I needed to be strong, but I was about to fail miserably.

Strong arms wrapped around my middle and my husband’s chin rested on my shoulder. “He’s going to be okay, sweetheart.”

It was the first week of September and Jett was leaving in a few days for boot camp. I was wrestling with my emotions because I was so proud of him, but also didn’t want him to go.

“Our brother is going to do amazing things and one day when he is done, he will come back and do more phenomenal things here too.”

Hearing Lyric refer to Jett asourbrother, not just as my brother was special. The two guys had bonded extremely well and Jett thought of Lyric the same way. As an older brother who had his back at every turn. I was glad he had someone to be strong for him because I was failing miserably.

I was blissfully happy for so many reasons. Starting with my husband that always knew when I needed him.

“You’re right,” I told him.

Lyric moved one hand down and playfully swatted my ass. “Of course I am.”

“One thing you’re not is modest.”

His deep chuckle sent my belly fluttering with anticipation of bedtime. Since we got married we couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves. Not that we could before that either but Lyric was right that it felt different.

And all that sex had done the trick.

It was only the first week of September so only a little over a month had passed. I was pretty sure that our wedding night was when my husband who’d said, ‘Your wish is my command’ had followed through with granting me my wish.

Lyric would have to wait a few minutes longer for his surprise. Or two, actually.
