Lord have mercy.

When I arrived atNo Surrender,Teal greeted me in the lobby. I’d been her nurse during her stay at the hospital once and it was then I’d first met Lyric. But I’d seen him again when Rowan ended up in the hospital. These guys and their women seemed to come into my workplace too frequently which was a bit concerning.

But it also led me to the help I needed.

It was during Rowan’s stay that I met his girl, Brinley, and she told me about where the guys worked. She and I had also kept in touch off and on since that time, but I hadn’t seen her or anyone else in the group until I came in for help.

Teal graciously offered to show me where I could change since I was still in my scrubs, as well as what room the class was in. As we moved down a long hallway, I could hear some classic rock music thumping from somewhere up ahead.

When we approached, Teal motioned toward a doorway. “This room on your left is our gym. It’s a fabulous facility as you can see.”

Oh it was nice alright.

I stood frozen with my mouth hanging open and I was quite sure that some drool leaked out of it in a very unladylike fashion.

“Like what you see?” Teal gave my shoulder a little bump.

Strong, ripped arms tightened as his hands jabbed one after another into a punching bag. A toned body dripped with sweat, and muscles bulged. Powerful thighs flexed with each movement. Lyric was a work of art and my mouth went dry as I took him in.

“I can see you’re speechless.” Teal snickered. “I only have eyes for my husband and he is the finest man on the planet, but if I was single I—”

A growl erupted from behind us, interrupting the rest of what she was going to say.

“You better only have eyes for me, woman, and you willneverbe single so watch that tongue before I bend you over my knee.”

We both spun around to see Kace standing there. Teal giggled and threw herself at her man, practically climbing him like a monkey. As they kissed right there in front of me, I turned back the other way to give them a moment of privacy and smacked right into a brick wall.

My palms automatically came up and landed on the massive chest I’d been ogling a minute before. A tingle raced through each extremity and jolted through my body like an electrical current sending me up in flames.

Lyric smiled and a shiver shot through me, all the way to the tips of my toes. “Fancy meeting you here. Do you like the place so far?”

I gulped, unable to speak.

The sexy as sin man in front of me smirked. Damn him. I wasn’t hiding my reaction to him at all. Finally, I found my voice. “It’s great. I was heading to change out of my clothes for class.”

Lyric’s eyes darkened and I realized he was affected by my words. The tables had flipped a bit. We stood there staring at one another.

Interesting.

Teal walked up beside me, shattering the moment. “We have to go or you'll be late for class and I heard the teacher is a real ball buster.” She laughed as she looked over her shoulder at her man.

My hands fell to my sides. Teal wrapped her arm through mine and pulled me away. She was funny. It was great to see. I knew from her hospital stay some of what she has been through even if I didn’t know her whole story and seeing her happy was amazing.

“I’ll see you after class!” Lyric called out.

We stopped walking and I pulled my arm from Teal’s as I twisted around surprised. “You’re going to still be here?”

“Yup.”

Butterflies fluttered in my belly. “Okay, see you after.”

I gave Lyric one last look, turned back to Teal who wrapped her arm back through mine, and we were off again.

“Girlll,” Teal drew out.

“What?” I asked, confused.

“Someone has their eye on you,” she said.
