Big Daddy gave his kid sister a hard look as Amelia laughed. Then she stopped at the top of the driveway and they unbuckled their seat belts.

But Big Daddy sat there momentarily with a look of grave concern on his face.

Amelia looked at him. “What are you so worried about?”

“It was my heart’s desire that none of my children end up with anybody remotely affiliated with mobsters. But Ash goes and marries, not just a mobster, but the head of the third most powerful syndicate in the world. Nobody else is more powerful except for my brother and Sal Gabrini. Now her husband’s at war with her uncle and there’s going to be hell to pay. And you ask me what am I so worried about? I’m worried about my child, that’s what I’m worried about. I’ve got to get her out of here.”

“Ashley’s as stubborn as the rest of us in the family. She’s not leaving Monk’s side.”

Big Daddy looked at Amelia. “She will if I order her ass to leave,” he said with total confidence.

Amelia wasn’t getting into it with her big brother. Mainly because it was a fight she’d never win. But she knew better.

She got out of the car.

Big Daddy got out too.

Inside the house and upstairs, Frankie “The Monk” Paletti threw his phone back onto the nightstand and continued to pump into Ashley as she laid naked beneath him. They were nearing the climax of their lovemaking when the call came in, and Monk wasn’t about to let the disturbing appearance of Big Daddy and Amelia spoil his orgasm. He was too close to cumming to let that happen. That was why he tossed that phone aside and got back to work.

He was known as The Monk because of his clean lifestyle: he didn’t chase women, nor men, and he didn’t smoke, drink, or attempted to harm anyone unless they first came for him or those near and dear to him.

But Ashley was his weakness. There was no other woman on earth that he would so much as cross a bridge to get to. But for Ashley he would not only cross it, but tear it down if he had to.

He also knew of, and constantly had to deal with, the persistent rumors of her less-than-ladylike behavior whenever he wasn’t around. Not to mention all of her male friends, all of whom were much younger than Monk. She was known as a young, irresponsible party girl when Monk first married her. He was certain she’d grow out of it when she became the wife of a man of his stature. And she did, to a large extent. But it was still a part of her lifestyle too.

“What was that about?” Ashley asked him as he continued to pump his love deep inside of her. She was on the verge of cumming too, but she knew something was going on with Frankie that he didn’t bother to share with her. All of the increased security around them and their home proved that. But Monk made clear early in their marriage that his mob life was not their life. He did everything in his power to keep that portion of his life separate from Ashley. “Who’s here? Danny?”

Danny Cerva was Monk’s underboss. His now-deceased underboss, although Ashley didn’t know it yet. “No,” Monk said. And then he groaned when those feelings began to completely overtake him.

Ashley was feeling it too. So much so that she forgot about that phone call, wrapped her arms even tighter around Monk’s big, muscular body, and began to have an orgasm that was so intense that it had her scratching his bare back and squeezing his bare ass. And she began crying out the way she always did when he was putting it on her to the point of cumming.

Monk came too with an even more thunderous cum. And he was grunting and groaning the way he usually was. It was as if that phone call, and their guests, were a distant memory.

The bed was shaking so hard it felt as if they were beating drums as they came. It lasted for several minutes. Until he poured out of himself all that he had to give to Ashley and theyboth finally, after numerous rolling sensations, came back down to earth.

It wasn’t until the final sensations had ebbed did either one of them remember that phone call.

“What was that call about?” Ashley asked him again.

Monk closed his eyes because he knew Big Daddy’s heavy hand would try to stop a train that had already left the station, and he didn’t want to deal with that right now. But he had no choice.

He looked at her tender brown skin. He loved her so much. His greatest fear was that her family would turn her against him when she was, in many ways, all he had. And now he was at war with them? What if she chose their side? “We got company,” he said to her.

For some reason Ashley had assumed it was some new security people setting up outside with the rest of the extra capos that were guarding their house. “Who?”

“Your father,” Monk said.

As soon as he said it, Ashley’s already wide eyes opened wider. “Why didn’t you say so before?” She quickly got off of him, forcing his dick out of her, and began putting on her clothes. “You know how he doesn’t like people making him wait.”

Monk respected Big Daddy above any man alive, but he never understood why all seven of Big Daddy’s children were so afraid of him. He said jump and they all said how high. Even Brent and Tony, the two oldest of Big Daddy’s children. Ashley and her baby sister Carly might have been adopted by him and Jenay when they were young, but they were just as afraid of him too. If not more so. It was uncanny to Monk.

“Get up, Frankie!” Ashley yelled at him. “What are you doing? You can’t make Daddy wait!”

Monk smiled and shook his head. He was the third most powerful boss in the world, but he was still expected to jump, hop and skip every time his wife’s father came around.

Although he never dreamed he’d be in a war with her uncle, there was no way he could manage a war with her father too.

He got out of bed.
