Mine.

Fucking mine.

And when she’s done, I whisper, “Roll over and give the window your back, wife.”

She does as she’s told, and I walk to the window to pull the shade.

“Show’s over,” I growl before shutting them out.

“Thank you,” she says when I climb over the mattress to pull her against me. “I know it’s not your thing.”

“I never saidred,” I remind her and kiss her long and slow. “But I’ll only ever do this if you request it for your birthday. Because you’remine, and I don’t share.”

“You know, I don’t love that another woman probably just saw you naked,” she says, as if it has just occurred to her. “Yeah, no. This will be a one-time deal. But it’s fun to try new things.”

I smirk and hug her close.

Suddenly, she pulls away, her eyes round, and she makes a run for the attached bathroom, retching into the toilet.

I hold her hair back and rub her back in soothing circles.

I wondered when this would start.

“Shit, I hope I don’t have the flu.”

I can’t help but chuckle at that, and she turns to me with a scowl.

“Why would that be funny?”

“You don’t have the flu.” I help her get cleaned up, then take her back to bed.

Since the incident months ago with her period andfinding the blood in our bed, I’ve kept track of her cycle. I don’t ever need to be caught unaware like that again.

She’s two weeks late.

“Ugh, I don’t want you to get sick.”

“Firefly, you don’t have a virus. You’re pregnant.”

She stills, then she sits up, staring down at me in shock as I brace my head on my hand and grin up at her.

“No, I’m not.”

“Yes. You are.”

“How doyouknow?”

“I keep track of your periods.”

“Wow, that’s not unhinged or anything.”

“We established that I’m unhinged a long time ago.” I jerk her to me and kiss her fiercely. “You’ve had symptoms. When were you going to suspect it?”

She sighs. “I don’t know. I thought maybe I was broken since I wasn’t getting pregnant before.”

“You’re not broken, my love.”

“Holy shit. I need to take tests.”
