“Of course,” I mutter sarcastically.

“What about my brother?”

His voice is lacking emotion when he states, “Your brother is dead.”

“Cillian said he wasn’t,” I fire back.

“Your father was very descriptive when he explained how Micah’s life ended.”

I flinch and curl my hands into fists.“He could have lied. You know, the way he agreed to pay Cillian the money you gave him to clear the debt.”

A muscle under his eye twitches.“For which he will face the consequences.”

Tilting my head I let my mind wander for a few heartbeats on what the consequences might be.

Which ultimately makes me blurt, “Any chance I could add to it?You know, because he knew his actions would get me into the hands of Cillian?”

“I will handle it.”This sentence carries a solid promise, and I can see the anger flaring in his gorgeous blue eyes.

He’s angry for my sake? There wasn’t any emotion when he talked about my father stealing the money he received from him to give to Cillian, but now there is.Very intriguing.

“Thank you,” I murmur.

“Don’t thank me yet.”His voice is back to the stoic one.“We haven’t found him yet.”

“If you give me my computer I could track him,” I offer.

A hint of a smile ghosts his lips.“Are you agreeing to stay with me for the unforeseeable future?”

There’s hardly a choice for me.If I want to keep Bri safe, and myself, all while we figure out the whole pregnancy thing?Yeah, staying here is the only sane option.

Holding my hand out I tell him, “Fine.I’ll accept another one of your deals.I will stay here until we’ve handled everything.”

His palm slides over mine until his large hand grips mine.“Until we’ve handled everything,” he agrees.Stepping away, he adds, “Follow me into my office to retrieve your laptop.”

I follow him out of the room and get the first glimpses of his home.It looks freaking huge judging from the long hallway with doors.Fiero comes to a stop in front of an open door and I slip into the room.

A large desk is sitting in front of a window and my first thought it, “Why do you have your back to the window?”

Because the view is gorgeous.

“Bulletproof glass,” a man I only now notice states as he gets up from a chair.

I blink a few times to process the weird answer and mutter, “Oh.I was thinking more about not being able to enjoy the gorgeous view.”

The man snorts.“Females.”

“Floris,” Fiero grits and places a hand on my lower back to guide me around the desk.“Ignore my younger brother.”

I take a seat in what I assume is Fiero’s leather chair while he hands me my laptop.Finding my father won’t be hard. He’s a creature of habit and I happen to know three places he won’t be able to stay away from.Booting up my laptop, I get to work while ignoring the man looking over my shoulder.
