Niko doesn’t stop. He finger-fucks me and moves his gaze back to mine. His thumb moves up to circle my clit and I feel my orgasm building. I close my eyes preparing for the shockwave that’s about to crash through me, but Niko halts his movements.

“Eyes on me,Kulta.I want to see how beautiful you are when you fall apart for me.”

His words send a thrill through me and I almost fall apart right then and there. The moment I open my eyes, Niko’s fingers curl inside of me and his thumb presses against my piercing, pushing into my clit and detonating my orgasm.

Pleasure rips through me in hot, relentless pulses, leaving me gasping Niko’s name. His fingers never leave me as he works me through the aftershocks of my orgasm. When I finally come down from my high, I’m panting.

“Good god, Niko. That was unbelievable.”

I watch as he slowly removes his fingers from me. I’m shocked when he lifts his fingers to his mouth, eyes never leaving mine, and licks my arousal clean.

“You’re fucking delicious, Sadie.”

And I swear, I almost orgasm again on the spot.

He leans back down to kiss me and I can taste myself on his tongue. Why is this so fucking hot? We kiss each other for a few seconds, my pants still resting at my mid-thigh. Instead of reaching down to pull them up, I rub my hand against his cock that’s begging to be released from his jeans.

Niko breaks our kiss and shakes his head once. “You don’t have to.”

I bite my lower lip and squeeze his length. “I want to.” My fingers work to undo his button and then I work on his zipper next.

Just as I’m about to push his pants down, I hear and feel his phone vibrating in his front pocket.

“Ignore it.”

I do as he says and slide his jeans down just below his ass and my eyes lock on the outline of his dick against his boxer briefs. I can already tell he’s huge and thick, and I am desperate to get a taste of him.

His phone starts vibrating against my leg where his jeans rest and he cusses under his breath. Whoever it is, it must beimportant for them to keep calling back despite him not answering.

“You should get that. It might be your parents and Sophia.”

Niko groans and rubs his hand down his face. “You’re right.”

I scoot over on the couch to make room for him next to me. He rests on his side and reaches down into his jeans to remove his phone. When he finally frees it, the screen lights up and it begins vibrating in his hand.

The name “Claire” is at the top of his screen but there’s no photo accompanying it. Any excitement or plans I had with Niko tonight just went up in smoke after seeing his ex-wife’s name on his phone.

Instinctively, I sit up and turn, placing my feet on the ground. How awkward to be sitting here with my pants halfway down while he’s about to have a chat with his ex. As quickly as I can, I pull my pants up and stand.

“Sadie, stop. I don’t have to answer it.”

I know it’s not his fault, but it really is the worst fucking timing. Another sign from the universe that we should definitely not be hooking up while his daughter is with her grandparents.

Niko reaches out for my hand and pulls me down to him. His eyes bounce between mine, as if trying to read my reaction.

Not wanting to dive into how bad of an idea this is, again, I lean down and kiss him quickly. “You should answer it. It’s Sophia’s mom.”

His eyes are silently pleading for me to stay, but in self-preservation, I remove my hand from his and walk away from him before I change my mind.

Every muscle in my body is screaming at me to turn around. I can barely breathe, my steps jerky and reluctant. The heat of his hands on me still lingers and my heart poundsin my chest. Something tugs at me, invisible and insistent, pulling between my shoulder blades like a cord being stretched too tight. My body continues toward the door, but every restless hum beneath my skin begs me to stop and turn back. I bite down on the inside of my cheek until I taste iron, the only thing keeping the tears at bay.

Once I get inside, I slam the door behind me. I swear I hear Niko, so I look over my shoulder and check to make sure he hasn’t followed me. I see him by the fire, a scowl on his face and his phone pressed to his ear. It’s enough to have me sprinting to the garage toward my apartment, as if I can escape the pain.

In the silence of my apartment, I bury my face in my hands. The truth crashes into me the moment the first tear falls.

I didn’t want to go. I wanted him to stop me.I wanted him.

I watch Sadie’s retreating back, my heart aching with each step she takes. My mind is screaming at me to do something.
