I’m not wrong for you, though.
Smiling to myself as I stroked my fingertips up and down her arm, I sighed and knew that was true. We clicked too damn well to be incompatible. Yet, there was no hope for us to really stick with each other. Sooner or later, I’d need to determine when to let her go. To send her back to her idea of society and civilization, with the rigid structure of law and order she’d sworn to protect and abide by.
That time wasn’t now, though.
Right now, all I had to do was hold her close and delude myself into thinking this would be enough to last me a lifetime.
I fell asleep, but it wasn’t a deep rest. When she woke up, stirring enough to rouse me, I realized she was an even lighter sleeper.
“Stop moving,” I muttered, too tired to want to be awake yet. Having her pressed against me was too comfortable to forfeit. I hadn’t slept for long, but it was a good start to solid slumber.
“I think I heard something.”
I groaned lightly, then chuckled.
“I’m serious,” she whispered, pushing her ass back against me. “I feel?—”
“This again?” I teased, kissing her cheek. Putting my hand on her lower stomach, I pushed her back against me so those delectable ass checks rubbed over my dick.
“Emil…” she whispered in a feeble protest.
“Yeah.” I ground against her, kissing along her neck. “Say my name just like that when you come like a good girl for me.”
I moved one hand to cup her breast, teasing her there, and with the other, I rubbed her clit.
“Hurry, Emil,” she begged so sweetly. Draping her leg over mine, she widened her legs so I could finger her as I got harder. “I want that big dick deep inside me instead.”
I was more than happy to oblige, but she had a point in telling me to hurry, after all. As soon as we came, with me fucking her from behind, holding her close, the front door was kicked in.
Fuck!
We hurried to grab our clothes and guns to run out of there once more. Frantically shoving our clothes and shoes on, we barely escaped. But with the threat of the enemy chasing us again, we doubled down as partners to flee into the night again.
“Wait,” she told me as we got outside, covering for each other with our guns up like we had practiced formations like this our whole lives. We were both trained in our own ways, but it synched in the face of danger.
“There’s not as many of them,” I replied in a whisper.
She nodded. “If you cover for me while I hot wire the car, we can get away faster.”
I arched my brow at her in the darkness behind the house, impressed that she’d be that skilled. And that brave to offer.
I nodded once, trying my hardest to remember that she was still supposed to bemyenemy as we paired our skills to evade this enemy.
No matter how much I wanted her and enjoyed this connection we couldn’t deny, deep down in my heart, I knew this couldn’t last.
She turned over the engine, and I ran out to join her. Jumping into the Jeep as she pulled close, I fired at the tires of the other car to prevent them from continuing this chase tonight.
I deserved at least one full night with her in bed, didn’t I?

SADIE
Idrove for over an hour while Emil tried to get his map to work. Nothing came up on the screen, and we both agreed that it would be best to navigate the rough, winding road without any guidance and stop where it seemed safe.
“What about your watch?” He glanced at it.
I shook my head. “It’s been dead for over a day now.”
