All the way back to Cornwall, Axel stayed close to her, and only veered away when she turned down the street leading to her father's house.
“Hey, Indi.I know I'm supposed to work next Saturday, but is there any way I can get it off?”Sophia asked the following night at work.
“I could probably move things around.Why do you need it off?”Indi inquired.
“Um, Axel wants to take me out.For my birthday.”
“When's your birthday?”
“Saturday,” she admitted.“I'm surprised you don't know, since it's in my employee record.”
“I don't memorize that stuff, girl,” Indi responded.“Why haven't we had a party for you before now?”
“I don't want to make a big deal of it.Birthdays and holidays weren't really celebrated when I was growing up.”
“Yeah, well, your mother is a raging cuntasaurus rex.We're celebrating you, whether you like it or not.You can have Saturday off, and be prepared for a party on Sunday,” Indi said, the tone of her voice brooking no argument.
Sophia saluted her.“Aye, aye, Captain!”
“Go get ready, smartass.You've got a show to do,” Indi groused, making Sophia laugh.
Despite the fact she only had a little over a week to get it organized, she knew the party Indi threw for her was going to be amazing.
Chapter Nineteen
Axel
Since Sophia had never really celebrated her birthday before, Axel wanted to do something extra special for her.With that in mind, he reserved one of the smaller private event rooms at The Capitol Hotel.
Then he went to the party guru for some advice.
“Hey, Indi.Can I pick your brain for a minute?”he asked as he approached her in Elysium.
“Sure.What's up?”
“I'm guessing you know by now that I want to do something special for Sophia’s birthday,” he started.
“Yeah.Don't worry, she's got Saturday off.”
“Thanks.Anyway, I've never actually planned a nice dinner and I want it to be romantic.”

Looking at the space he'd rented, he was amazed by its transformation.Since it was too cold to be outdoors, he'd brought it indoors.There were several small potted trees, flowering plants, even a gazebo, which was where their table sat.
Twinkling lights were wrapped around the trees and the gazebo as well as strung around the room.
The table was covered in a burnished gold tablecloth and there were red accents in the form of a single red dahlia in a crystal vase and dark red napkins.
Their food was catered and he had soft music queued up and ready to go.Now all he had to do was go get his girl.
He drove over to Elysium and slowly moved down the street until he found her car.He pulled in behind it, turned the bike off, and started for the driver’s side.
