“It's a standing offer. When you make up your mind, let us know,” Zaine told him.
“We're ready to go,” the driver of the moving truck said after loading Zen's crate into the SUV.
“Right. Follow me. See you at home Angel,” Zaine said and kissed her. He got on his bike, revved the engine, and headed out with the moving truck behind him.
“Let's go, Sweetheart,” Finley said, opening the passenger door for her. Her car was already at Zaine's, they'd taken it over earlier.
She slid in and put on her seatbelt then waited for Finley to get in. She leaned over and kissed her cheek before she laughed at Zen hooting in the back.?
“Sounds like he's ready to go too,” Finley said with a laugh of his own. He started the SUV and headed out, following the moving truck and Zaine.
Zaine
When he got to the house, he parked in the garage next to Sorcha's car and went out to unlock the door for the movers. By the time they'd started unloading, Finley and Sorcha arrived.
“Let's get this boy inside,” Zaine said, going to the back of the SUV. He and Finley each took a side of the crate and carried it inside. All while Zen hooted and flapped his wings.
Once they got the crate inside, he watched as Sorcha opened it and took him out. “There now beautiful boy, we're all moved. Your cage will be set up soon,” she said soothingly as she petted him. “He'll settle down once he's in his cage. He's not used to being in a car,” she told them.
Zaine approached and Zen nipped at him before letting him pet him. “Poor boy,” he said gently.
Sorcha smiled up at him. “He's always liked you.”
“He's a good boy,” Zaine said. Zen made a noise that was almost like a trilling at all the attention he was getting.
Finley approached and reached out slowly to pet down his back too.
“He might nip at you, but he won't bite. He's just nervous from the move,” Sorcha told him.
“He's a beautiful bird,” Finley said.
Once the cage was set up along the living room wall, Sorcha carried him inside and put him on his perch. He ruffled his feathers and then settled down.
“I have a question, Angel. What are you going to do with the apartment, since it's furnished?” Zaine asked.
“I was thinking of putting a lock on the door that's inside the shop and renting it out. That way I'll get some residual income from it,” Sorcha replied.
“That's actually a good idea,” Finley said. “As long as you vet anyone you rent it out to. You don't want a bad element staying over your shop.”
“Yeah. It's something to think about,” Sorcha said. “By the way, is there any word on your boss?” she asked.
“Not yet. I'm going to check on him tomorrow,” Finley replied.
“Keep us posted,” Zaine said. “How about I order dinner and we get this celebration started?”
“Yes, feed me. I'm starving,” Sorcha said with a grin.
Half an hour later they were chowing down on supreme pizza and drinking wine. “If you're going home, you can only have one glass,” Zaine told Finley.
“I figured I'd stay the night,” Finley replied. “If that's okay with you two,” he added.
“That's perfect,” Zaine said. “We can take good care of our girl then.”
“I am one lucky girl,” Sorcha said, finishing her wine and pouring a second glass. “I've got two sexy men waiting to ravish me.”
“Yes, you do,” Zaine said.
“And we are definitely going to ravish you,” Finley put in.
