Once she stopped writhing, he kissed back up her body and settled between her welcoming thighs. He slid into her with a moan. “Fuck, I've missed this pussy.”

“This pussy has missed your cock,” she replied as they began to move together. Each thrust pushed her higher and closer to the precipice until she finally came with another scream, fingers raking Baz's back almost deep enough to make him bleed.

Kaia clenching around him dragged him over with her and Baz collapsed. He stayed like that for a moment before he rolled off her, taking her with him. He pulled her close and tugged the covers over them.

Kaia nuzzled into him. “I vote we stay right here for now.”

“I can agree with that,” he replied and kissed her temple. “I've missed you, missed this.”

“What, the post-coitous bliss?” she teased.

“No, brat, holding you.”

“I've missed being held by you,” she confessed and yawned.

“Get some rest, beautiful. We'll join the others later.”

“Sounds good,” she murmured and snuggled against him.

Baz held her as she drifted off. He laid there watching her sleep and silently thanked Lumir, the God of Forgiveness, for touching Kaia’s heart. He knew without Lumir's touch, he wouldn't be holding her right now.

Chapter Nine

Kaia

Over the next few days, their allies began to filter in. Kaia knew it was only a matter of time before Silas would request a meeting with her, and she was right.

“There's a messenger from Silas at the gates,” Bryant, one of the guards, informed her.

“Have him searched then brought in,” Kaia replied from where she sat going over the plans to fortify the compound.

“You got it, boss.”

She covered what she was doing and sighed. When the guy sauntered in with a sneer on his face she arched a brow. This messenger clearly had an attitude. “I hear you have a message from Silas. Let's have it.”

“I'll only give it to the man in charge,” he sneered.

That got her hackles up. “Listen up, fucker, because I'm only going to say this once. In Silverspell compound,Iam the one in charge. So you can either can the attitude and give me the message or you can shove that message up your fucking ass, crawl back to Silas, and explain to him you couldn't deliver his message because you're a misogynistic little fucker. Your choice.”

The guy stared at her and she saw the moment her words sank in. He swallowed and cleared his throat. “Silas wants to meet with you. Tonight at ten at The Denizen.”

She steepled her fingers. “I'll be there.” When he left she ran a hand through her hair. She wasn't looking forward to this, but it had to be done.

Leaving the room, she went in search of her mates. She needed her men with her when she went to meet with Silas.

She found them on the training grounds, shirtless, sweat glistening on their chests, with Shar watching them in rapt attention.

“They're magnificent, aren't they?” Kaia said, coming up beside Shar.

“Goddess yes,” Shar sighed.

“I almost hate to disturb them but I'm going to need them tonight.” She turned her attention to the two men and whistled to get their attention.

“Hey, beautiful,” Baz said.

“Hey, babe. What's up?” Rafe said at the same time.

“I just had a visitor. A messenger from Silas. A misogynistic little fucker who thought it was wise to insult me,” she grumbled. “Anywho, Silas wants to meet at The Denizen tonight at ten. Three guesses as to why he wants to meet and the first two don't count.”
