"Don't lie to me, woman."
She sighed. "I got mouthy with him again and he took the whip to my back, ten lashes this time."
"That bastard. If he wasn't already dead, I'd kill him."
"What about you? I smell blood."
"I'll be fine. A few scratches, nothing a little time won't heal. Let's get out of here."
"You don't have to tell me twice. I've been ready to get out of here since I woke up here," she replied.
"Don't look," he said as they exited the mansion, but she didn't listen. It was like she needed to see that he was dead to feel safe.
"He's really dead," Frankie said. "I don't have to be afraid anymore."
"He's really dead," Yaeger said, his arm wrapped around her. He led her over to the SUV and helped her in before sliding in beside her. "Let's get the fuck out of here," he called out to the others.
"We have to take care of the bodies first," Locke said. "Knox, you're up."
The half demon stepped forward and began chanting. Before long, all three bodies were gone as if they'd never existed.
"Now we can get out of here," Locke said once Knox was finished.
"What happens when someone notices he's gone?" Frankie asked.
"We don't know anything," Locke told her as he climbed into the driver's seat of the SUV.
"Okay then. I'm just glad it's over," she replied.
"That makes two of us, darlin'," Yaeger said.
They headed back to the cabin to debrief and decompress.
"Now that Frankie's stalker is out of the picture, we'll be heading back to Chicago," Locke said once the debriefing was over.
Yaeger approached the other man. "Thank you for everything you and your team did to help get rid of him," he said, his hand held out to shake.
Locke took it and they shook. "You're welcome."
"I'm going to take Frankie home," Yaeger told him.
In the meantime, Sumi approached Frankie. "I'm sorry I failed to keep you safe," she said.
"It's not your fault. He was sneaky," Frankie replied.
"That's what I told her," Yaeger said, overhearing them. "Come on, darlin', we're going home," he added.
"Yes, please," she responded.
He slipped his arm over her shoulders and escorted her out to his truck. Once there, he held the door open for her and helped her in.
He glanced at her on the short drive to his cabin. "Are you okay, darlin'?"
"Take me home and make love to me and I will be," she replied.
"Your wish is my command."
When they got to his cabin, he got out and went around and helped her out. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply. "I was going crazy while you were gone. I kept imagining what he was doing to you."
