The Master was losing his grip on reality. Kidnapping a woman? What was he thinking? Mara knew it was wrong. She knew she could go to jail as an accomplice to the crime if she didn't help get her out, but she was scared. Scared of the Master. He was a dangerous man. If she failed, and he found out, the things he could do to her made her shudder.

But on the other hand, if she succeeded, the woman would be safe, and the Master would be behind bars where he belonged. But for how long? He had money, he could use it to get out.

Then again, the woman said her mate wanted him dead. Dead meant he couldn't come after her for helping her escape. Yes, dead was good.

Mind made up, Mara made her way to the woman's room and used her key to get in. "It's all right, it's just me," she said when the woman startled.

"What are you doing here?"

"I've decided to help you on one condition. The Master doesn't get to live."

"Trust me, he's a dead man walking," the woman said.

"I can't help you get out of here, but I can get a message to your mate if you tell me where to find him."

"I can do that. Do you know where the Caplan's campground is?"

"I know of it."

"Good," and she told her which cabin to look for.

"I will go tomorrow. It's my day off and I always go into town. The Master will think nothing of it. Here, I've brought you a sandwich," she said and handed it over.

"Thank you, and thank you for helping me. My mate's name is Yeager. Ask for him."

"I will. Now I must go before the Master finds me here." She exited the room and relocked the door. Her course was set and her fate was sealed. Tomorrow she would betray the Master and help the woman he'd kidnapped gain her freedom.

Chapter Twenty Eight

Yaeger

Yaeger paced the living room. That's pretty much all he'd done for the last two days since Frankie had been taken. Pacing. "Tell me you've found the bastard, Silas."

"Almost."

"It's been two fucking days. There's no telling what he's been doing to her since he took her," Yaeger growled.

"Calm yourself, brother," Yin said. He'd stopped by to see how things were going. "He's working as fast as he can."

"Would you be calm if it was Chloe who was taken?" Yaeger asked.

"No, I can't say I would," he admitted.

"Then don't tell me to calm down."

"I just need a few more minutes to pinpoint his location," Silas told him just as there was a knock at the door.

"I've got it," Knox said and went to answer it. "Yo, Yaeger, there's a lady here looking for you. Says it's important."

"What the fuck now?" he asked as he went to the door. "I'm Yaeger, I'm kind of busy right now."

"You're looking for your mate, right? Well, I know where she is," the woman said at the same time as Silas said, "Hot damn, I've got it!"

"Come inside." They would compare what the woman said with what Silas found. He stepped back so she could step inside.

"Please tell me he's going to die for taking her, that you're not going to settle for having him arrested," the woman said as she entered.

"I'm going to rip him to shreds," Yaeger replied.
