“Gods, I love the Human Realm.” Reaper’s voice travels to my ears, making me look for my sister’s mate.

And did he just sayHuman Realm?

“But couldn’t we have hit up New York City instead?” he goes on as he appears in a cloud of smoke, his Death Fae heritage seeming to cling to his skin as he fully materializes right next to the water. “I could go for a pizza.”

“You could always go for pizza,” Flame mutters as he appears with him, the Corpse Fae looking oddly deformed, like he’s engaged his deadly traits.

Orcus and my sister arrive next. He’s in full beast mode, his black wings spread wide. When I spy the baby bundle in his arms, I instantly understand why. His protective instincts have been triggered.

Why? What has happened? And why are we in the Human Realm?

“Sera!” my sister yells the moment she sees me and starts scrambling across the sand with about as much success as I did moments ago.

Reaper swoops in to grab her, his arms cradling her as he shadows himself across the small space to gently deposit her in front of me and Maliki.

“I always knew I liked you,” Morpheus murmurs.

“Everyone likes me,” Reaper says. “I’m fucking amazing.”

Alina ignores him and throws her arms around me. I return the hug as a storm of emotion overwhelms me.

So much has happened over the last… week? Few days? Years?

Stars, I don’t even know.

“Lina,” I whisper, using the nickname I’ve had for her since we were kids.

She squeezes me tighter. “It’s going to be okay. TheAlphas won’t find you here. And you’re not marrying or matinganyonewithout consent.”

That last part seems clearly directed at Hades, but I’m hung up on the comment before the marriage one. “Alphas are looking for me?”

“Huntingis a more accurate term, sunshine,” Reaper drawls, the nickname one he gave me early on in our acquaintance. The Death Fae has a lot of quirks. But he treats my sister like a queen, so I accept his bizarre proclivities and focus on the term he just gave me.

“Hunting?” I echo, not liking the sound of that at all.

Reaper grins. “Yep. You’re an unclaimed Omega and about to go into her first heat. From what I understand, you’re a walking beacon for Alpha chaos. And I am fucking here for it.”

A blade appears in his hand as Alina slowly releases me, her gaze searching my face as I struggle to process what Reaper is saying.

“You know me,” he goes on with a charming smile. “I love a good bloodbath. So let’s make it rain.”

Chapter 2

Maliki

Shock and confusionflicker through Sera’s beautiful features, her blue eyes locked on Reaper.

“Don’t scare my sister,” Alina chides.

Reaper frowns down at her. “I’m telling her about a party. Why would that scare her?”

“You’re talking about amassacre,” she corrects him.

“Yes. Also known as a feast of souls, thus aparty. I can bring you some Alpha hearts, if you like?” He gives her a hopeful expression. “Would that please you?”

Sera’s expression tells me that this sort of gift wouldnotplease her at all.

That’s fine.
