Eric burst out laughing, which was seriously adorable. “Ooh, so they don’t get mad, they get even?”

Eric rolled his eyes. “I know that type.”
“Right? So there’s this sweet little granny who lives on the ground floor, and her grandson tripped over the bike. She doesn’t say a word—she just wheels it over andzip tiesit to the bike rack.”
His jaw fell open. “No shit?”
“I’m dead serious. And I don’t mean just one zip tie to make a point. The wheels, pedals, handlebars—anything she could zip to the rack, she did.” I snickered. “I think it took him a solid hour to get it off. He tried to complain, and the building management was just like, ‘Bruh, you’re lucky nobody stole it. Quit bitching.’”
“Good! Did he stop leaving his bike in everybody’s way?”
“I think he started keeping it in his condo.”
“Perfect. Everybody wins.”
“Exactly.” I shifted a little and hooked my leg over his. “So let’s maybe not challenge my building’s old people by fooling around in the hot tub.”
He tsked as he let me draw him in. “You take the fun out of everything.”

He shivered. “I doubt I said much that was coherent at that point.”
Grinning, I shrugged. “I understood you.”
“Well, that’s what matters.” He trailed his fingertips down my arm, and his grin faltered a bit. Then he swallowed. “I, uh… I’m glad we talked the other night. About… our physical differences.”
“Yeah?”
He nodded. “I think what Selena said got under my skin more than I thought. And I was already a little intimidated.” His smile returned, if a bit shyly. “But today… I mean, I was still intimidated, but it felt less like it bothered you.”
“It bothers me that you’re intimidated,” I said softly. “But no, you’re not lacking anywhere. Not in the least.” I caressed his cheek and made him look in my eyes. “And if blowing you into oblivion is what it takes to convince you that you, your dick, and everything about you turns me on, then…” I half-shrugged. “I’m up for the challenge.”
Laughing, he pulled me closer. “That’s the sacrifice you’ll make, huh?”
“Absolutely.” I tugged him onto my lap and wrapped my arms around him. “I mean it—there’s nothing I’d change about you.” I paused. “Well, aside from the part where you’re sore and I’m sore and we can’t fuck quite yet.”
He laughed with more feeling this time, and he relaxed into my embrace. “Good thing we still have almost two weeks here.”
“Good thing.” I drew him down into a kiss, and any uncertainty he might’ve had seemed to fade away.
