“I would never kid about something like this. I can do my work from anywhere. I may be a photographer but even if I can’t find work here, I saved up enough that I’ll be fine until Icanfind work. I can also travel later and maybe my boyfriend will want to come with me. But first, I need to plant my ass in his bedroom and tell him every fucking feeling I have.” Hopefully, those words got the point across.
“Boyfriend? Nicky, wait.” He grabbed my hand, holding them between his. “Look at me.”
“I can’t keep doing this.” I looked at him like he wanted. “I need to be with you. I’ve given you time and space and it’s driving me fucking crazy.”
“Your brother told me to talk to you. That’s why I sent you the text.” He gave me a small smile. “I guess I’ve been grumpy.”
“That makes two of us, baby.” I pulled my hand from his grip and started up the car. “Oh, by the way, I’m moving in with you.” It wasn’t romantic in the least, but I needed him to know that I was serious about us.
“I figured that much.”
“Really?” My head whipped around. “How?”
He leaned his head against the back of the seat, giving me a small smile. “Well…to be honest, I was hoping that this would happen. If you hadn’t shown up right when I texted you, I would have gone looking for you.”
Letting out a slow breath, I looked back out at the road in front of us. “I meant what I said. I’m done playing games. I’m done not being with you. I’m done—” A hand cupped my inner thigh.
“I’m done too, Nicky.”
We drove the rest of the way to Noah’s apartment in silence but really, I was a whole bag of fucking nerves on the inside.
When we finally reached Noah’s building, he left the vehicle first. Thank fuck for that because I needed a second to just breathe.
Finally gathering the balls to leave the car, I joined Noah and let him lead us to his home. It felt like a year had gone by since I had been inside the place he lived. Noah’s friends came and went, and I was always jealous that they could see Noah whenever they wanted.
When we reached Noah’s apartment, he unlocked the door and let me step past him. I entered first, taking in my surroundings.
“It doesn’t bother you that I basically told you that I’m movinginwithout asking you?” I asked him, heading to the balcony doors. The view overlooked the city and it was always my favorite spot in his home.
“No.” Noah came to my side. “If it was anyone else, I would be.” He grabbed my hand, spinning me around to face him. “My feelings for you haven’t changed but I need to know that you’re in this for the long run. I know you referred to me as your boyfriend earlier but that’s not enough. I need to know, Nicky. I need—”
I grabbed the back of his head, silencing him with a soft kiss. “My feelings for you haven’t changed either. In fact, they’ve only grown. But maybe we should take this slow. We can start dating and do things couples do.”
Noah leaned back, staring at me with a raised eyebrow. “Are you sure?”
“Of course I’m fucking sure.” I grabbed his hands and pulled him to the couch. We sat but I made sure to keep his hands in mine. “I love you, Noah. I want to spend my life with you. I also meant what I said. I’m not traveling at the moment but would like you to join me at somepoint when the opportunity arises.”
Noah opened his mouth to speak, to argue, to tell me that I was crazy but instead, he let out a soft sigh. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to hear those words from you. This is all I’ve ever wanted. I just wanted you to be honest with yourself because I’ve known all along that this…” He brought our joined hands up, giving mine a squeeze. “Has always been meant to be.”
“I was scared.” I dropped our hands back in my lap, running my thumb along a faint scar on the knuckle of his index finger. “I’m still scared. I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ve never been in a relationship before, and I don’t want to fuck this up.”
“That makes two of us, Nicky.”
My head lifted. “Really?”
He scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Of course. You think I know what I’m doing? I don’t. At all. But I know that I want to do it with you.”
Pulling my hands from his grasp, I threw my arms around his shoulders, hugging him tight. “I love you.”
He chuckled, the sound vibrating through every inch of me and right to the tip of my dick. “I loveyou. So fucking much.”
“Good.” He cupped my nape, leaning his forehead against mine. “Now, let’s call Veronica because I know she’s been dying to find out what’s going on between us.”
