“Truly’s been expanding like crazy,” He added casually. “Her herbal tea company took off faster than we expected. We ended up franchising.”
“That’s amazing.” Jatavia’s eyes widened.
“Thanks, she rebranded it too. Renamed it ‘Truly’s Desire’…she said it felt more…intentional.” Pride flashed briefly in Bleu’s eyes before he tucked it back in.
I felt my chest swell watching the respect in Jatavia’s expression. In the moment, I didn’t care that Bleu was taking forever to walk into the house. Their conversation flowed easily, there was nothing forced or fake about it.
“Wow that’s powerful,” she said sincerely.
Bleu nodded his head like he already knew.
“She wants the spaces to match her brand. We are willing to wait for Dreu to supply you with a team that can assist you with her offices and to help her with launching events. That’s where you will come in at. Since Dreu is in love with you that makes it even better. I’d rather the money stay in the family than get paid out to someone who doesn’t have a passion for it.”
He finally glanced at me with a brief unreadable expression before looking back at Jatavia.
“You’re in demand already,” he smiled. “It’s a good place to start with us representing your own brand.” He added confidently.
Jatavia opened her mouth, but nothing came out. Her anxiety and nervousness were probably through the roof right now. Bleu didn’t even give her a chance to warm up. Instead of her conducting the consultation he led it before she sat down with Truly.
One of the twins let out a louder grunt, face red with frustration.
“See? My boys agree with me.” Bleu smirked.
Jatavia laughed softly just as Truly nudged past me.
“I am so sorry girl, I’m Truly and this is my overprotective husband Bleu. How long has he had you out here.” Truly pinched Bleu’s arms.
She pulled Jatavia in for a hug then held on to either side of her arms.
“It’s okay, he actually was telling me about ‘Truly’s Desire’ and how proud he is of you. I’m excited and honored to work closely with you.” Jatavia’s voice was calmer talking to Truly.
It’s like they took to each other immediately. They embraced after Jatavia told Truly her name. We finally entered the house. I moved as fast as my long legs could take me to sit the heavy ass twins down on their play rug then collapsed down on the couch.
“Man, you owe me two thousand dollars, nigga. My damn shirt is ruined, and you know I don’t hold both babies at once. I don’t see how you do it.” I complained immediately.
Kreu had pulled at one of my dreads before I placed him on his tummy. They both squirmed on the floor as Bleu laughed and took a seat across from me.
“Them boys was driving me crazy. I’m trying to bake some new cookies before my Princess comes home and can’t catch a break.” He sighed and ran his hand down his waves.
“I told you I had to get ready before they came. You the one spoiling them, you could have put them in their chairs.” Truly cut into Bleu’s complaining.
He turned quickly like he been caught saying something he wasn’t supposed to say. I chuckled; I would never get used of Truly putting Bleu’s ass in his rightful place.
“Gone Truly,” Bleu waved her off. “Love to act like you don’t play a big part in spoiling these boys.” He nodded his head their way.
“They are too cute by the way, may I?” Jatavia looked between Bleu and Truly.
“Girl yes,” Truly smiled warmly then pointed at True. “The one with the binky in his mouth is True, and that’s Kreu.”
“Careful with Kreu, he real violent with it.” I warned.
Jatavia excitedly made her way to Kreu the one I just warned her ass about. Truly scooped True in her arms and placed him right beside Bleu. I watched Jatavia in awe. She baby talked to Kreu and nuzzled his little neck. He cooed right back to her and even grabbed her face and kissed the tip of her nose.
“Ohhh Dreu, do you babysit them?” She asked never looking at me.
Bleu and Truly looked at me at the same time with raised brows.
“Dreu only watches them when he comes over to eat while I make plates.” Truly snitched proudly.
