“Hey Cam, how’s it going?” Em asks.
I snap my head to my best friend, narrowing my eyes silently telling her not to pursue this conversation any further.
“Not too bad, Em, and you?” I look back and forth between them, hoping he’ll leave soon.
“Would you like to join us?” She waves over to my side of the booth, and I slide my wide eyes to hers. What is she doing?
Em directs a smug look towards me.
“I would love to join you.” Cameron takes a seat and closes the entirety of the space between us. “How are you this fine morning, Kamila?”
Without looking at him, I respond. “Good. Hungover. Enjoying my bacon.”
“She had a very eventful night.” Em grins.
Please don’t.Please don’t.
“She almost stripped in front of the entire bar.”
I chug the rest of my iced coffee and slam the glass down.Heat rises to my cheeks out of embarrassment and anger towards my roommate.
“Oh yeah?” Cameron’s eyes are practically tearing a hole into the side of my head. “You were that drunk, huh?” His voice sounds even and normal for someone who is most definitely unhappy with the situation.
Neither one of us confirms his suspicion as Cameron continues.
“So, Emma, who or what stopped her from stripping?” His right hand is on my thigh within the blink of an eye, close to my center. I almost drop my fork and slam my legs together when he squeezes me lightly, and I know exactly what that means. He’s pissed.
“Levi and I did. It was mostly her skirt riding up, and she had a low neckline on, so it wasn’t difficult for it to drop?—”
“Okay, enough of that,” I say with a shaky laugh.
“She’s right.” Em picks up a pastry. “How was your night, Cameron?”
There’s only one reason why she would be doing this. She suspects something, and she’s watching him and I very, very closely.
“It wasn’t as exciting as your guy’s night. Zoey, Will, a couple of other friends, and I went to a house party. It was fine. No stripping, though.” He turns his attention back to me. “What were your guys’ costumes?” I let out a small eye roll, and he squeezes my thigh again.
Em clears her throat and explains the costumes to Cameron, where he proceeds to ask questions about…well I don’t know what about since the hand he has on my thigh starts moving upward. I keep still, waiting to see where he's going with this. He stops once he reaches the highest part of my inner thigh as I try not to move.
After a couple of minutes of him and Em talking, he pulls his hand away.
I exhale a long, silent, mildly relieved breath.
“Well, unfortunately, I have to get going. My friends are waiting for me. It was good to see you guys.”
“Say hi to Zo for us,” Em requests while Cameron stands. He dips his chin and leaves. After a couple of seconds, my phone vibrates.
CK:I told you, I don’t like it when other guys look at you the way I do, let alone half naked. Don’t do that again. Those tits and ass are for my eyes only.
An odd rush of satisfaction runs through me, knowing how rough the sex is going to be the next time we see each other.
Emma’s fork falls on her plate, bringing my attention back to her.
“I know you lied to me about Nick.”
My heart drops.
“What are you talking about?”
