I growl and adjust my cock against her opening. “Condom?” I ask her.
“We’re exclusive now and I’m on birth control. Guess that’s another rule we can break.” She shrugs.
“See? Comes with perks.” I slam into her, all while taking in her facial expressions of pleasure. If this is as far as we go, it’ll be enough, and if I keep repeating that to myself, maybe I’ll start to believe it.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
KAMILA
“Kamila, wake up,” Em whispers.
“Too. Bright. Need. More. Sleep,” I mutter while pulling a pillow over my head. Speaking of heads, mine feels like it’s about to explode from the sounds similar to those of drums swimming through it.
How much did I drink last night? I take a moment to try and piece together the events from what I can remember until I’m interrupted by an extremely loud and high-pitched voice. At least, that’s how it currently sounds to me.
“I need a greasy breakfast and coffee,” Em whines.
My head now feels like it’s bouncing.
Hold on, that’s my bed bouncing. Is she really jumping on my bed right now?
“Get up, get up, get up!” Em shrieks.
Sheisjumping on the bed.
Taking the pillow off my head, I sit up in defeat. “Okay, fine. I’m up. Can you please stop jumping now? My head hurts enough as it is.”
She sits down and hands me some Tylenol and a bottle of water. “I thought you could use this.”
“Thanks.”
Em nods while watching me down the pills. There’s a long pause before she speaks again. “So, are you going to tell me why you drank so much last night? I mean, I know it was Halloween, but you almost exposed your entire butt and boobs at the bar where you just got your internship.”
Looking at my roommate confused, I try focusing again on last night. She ignores my nonresponse and decides to talk about everybody’s costumes at the bar and how everyone was wearing the same ones.
Okay, let’s start at the beginning. Levi, Jake, Em, and I went to King’s Wolf dressed up as the Scooby gang. All our other friends were busy, including Zo, who was with Cameron. We began taking shots after a round of drinks Jake bought us. Lime, salt, Levi and Jake lying down on a table while people, including myself, licked off…oh God.
No, no, no, no.
“You let me drink tequila?” I slowly ask Emma.
She pauses her rant about costumes. “What?”
“I drank tequila,” I say a little louder. “You let me drink tequila. You know what happened the last time I drank freakin’ tequila.”
More memories begin to filter in, piecing together the final fragments of last night. Dancing with my friends, trying to do a split on the floor where my skirt rode up and the top started slipping down from my Velma costume while guys wooed.
“Shit.” I start pacing the floor until I remember that neither Tara nor that old bartender Abe was there. It was Mateo.
Okay, good. That’s good.
“I’m not your mother, Kamila. You said you wanted to have fun, and after two drinks, you insisted on having tequila.” She sighs. “Besides, we were withJakeonHalloween.”
I stop in my tracks. “Meaning he bought shots for everyone at the bar, which, of course, happened to be tequila.”
Em lets out a dry laugh. “There’s no stopping Jake on Halloween.”
I mutter my apology.
