Our kiss turns frantic and within seconds, I’m inside of her again.

The sunlight hittingme directly in the face wakes me up right after eleven thirty. I slowly get dressed barely opening my eyes.

That’s what I get for not coming back up to my room till five in the morning. I can’t say I regret it at fucking all.

It was the best night of my life. One of many to come.

Kamila and I spoke, ate, drank, and fucked for hours.

It was everything I wanted and more. She’s the love of my life. She still hasn’t said it back. It’s okay, though; she’s scared and I can wait. The last thing either one of us needs is for her to run off because I’m being too pushy. This is her first relationship; a lot of unknown things are coming her way, and Kamila is used to rules and unrealistic conditions. It’s new territory, and she needs time to accept and process it.

On my way to hunt for coffee, hoping it helps with an incoming headache, the smell of cinnamon and apples pierces my nostrils, making my stomach growl. Hopefully, Dad cooked whatever that is. I do not feel like pretending to like something that mom made twice in a matter of five days, or at the very least not getting a stomach ache from her cooking.

Opening the door to the kitchen, I come to a complete stopwhen I see how many people are here. Kamila, Mom, Ethan, and Dad are all sitting on the island stools, eating and talking like no time has passed at all.

Mom sees me at the door and gives me a knowing smile.

Fuck.

“Hey sweetie, come have breakfast. Kami made waffles that are to die for.”

My girlfriend blushes at that. Damn, it feels nice knowing she’s mine.

“They’re not that good really, you don’t have to eat them.”

I’m taken aback by her shyness, it’s so unlike her.

Ethan rolls his eyes. “Don’t listen to her. They’re awesome, brother. Go get some and join us.”

“Waffles sound perfect.” I make my way to the island. “Are they over there?”

“I’ll make you a plate. There’s a certain way they should be served.” She swivels her hips towards the counter, avoiding my eyes. There’s something off about her demeanor and it’s making my hands all clammy.

I feel like a fucking tween again, nervous about his first crush.

Before my anxiety is able to skyrocket, I come up next to her and lean down a bit.

“Is everything okay?”

When she lifts her face to me, her beautiful eyes are lighter than they’ve ever been and they’re accompanied by a flirtatious smile. “More than okay.”

Kami’s left hand travels to the center of her neck and lingers there. I follow her movements, and my throat bobs harshly when I swallow. The silver pendant I gave her back in Driscoll is shining against her skin.

Not only did she agree to be my girlfriend, but this must mean she’s ready to make it public. No more secrets.

When I look back up, she’s beaming, looking breathtaking without even trying, and I decide there and then that this is asgood a time as any to take her into my arms in front of my parents and brother to kiss her. It’s light with no tongue and catches Kamila completely off guard, causing her to let out a small gasp. She quickly recovers and kisses me just as softly, still grinning.

She’s finally let her guard down. I mean more to her than I thought, and fuck if that doesn’t make me feel like I’m on cloud nine.

The magic is broken once Ethan lets out a whistle, causing us to separate and me flipping him off.

“Don’t get all bitter on me now, brother, it’s about damn time. Ever since I gave you those tattoos and you both realized why I had done matching ones, specifically for you two, I’ve been waiting for this to happen.”

Kami snaps her head to Ethan and then my parents, looking worried.

“Oh, sweetie, we know that Ethan gave you and your sister tattoos before turning eighteen.” Mom shrugs.

Well, there goes another thing I forgot to tell my girl.
