“They will.”

I grab onto his shirt, pulling him closer so I can kiss him while we wait for the food to heat up. Despite everything that’s happened, I feel like the luckiest woman alive when Vasily wraps his arms around me and slides his tongue in to meet mine. I lose myself in my husband, making him laugh when I slide my hand down his joggers so I can grab onto the sculpted ass I’ll never be able to get enough of.

Chapter 12

Vasily

When I finally pull my knife free from the dead fuck at my feet, I expect to feel some sense of elation, but all I feel is irritable. The list is finished, aside from the one mysterious bastard that haunts my every waking thought. I have several men trying to dig into Ruby’s connections and trace her online activity, but so far nothing has come up. There’s no trace of the auction she had up for Nina, and no way in hell to know who won it. The man’s a fucking ghost, and until I watch him breathe his last fucking breath, I won’t be able to let this go.

Tensions are running high ever since I cut off Seamus’s tongue, and my men are still required to travel in groups if they leave our side of the city. Colin hasn’t been in touch, but I can feel his anger radiating up from the south. On the plus side, no one else has insulted my wife, so I guess I got my point across.

“Anything new from Sergei and Anton?” I ask Andrei when I get back into the SUV.

He hands me a rag to wipe the blood from my hands. “They just texted a few minutes ago. Ruby’s place has been quiet lately. A guy showed up earlier, but he was a good fifty pounds overweight. There’s no way he’s ski mask.”

“Fuck,” I growl, feeling my blood pressure rise. “You know what needs to happen.”

“I do, but if you grab Ruby and start interrogating her, things are going to get very violent very fast.”

“I’m aware.”

“At least bring Volodya over.”

I sigh in frustration, but I know he’s right. I need one of my brothers here if we’re going to start a war. “I’ll call him later and let him know what’s going on. For now, we keep doing what we’re doing.”

“Sounds good,” he says, making an illegal U-turn to put us back in the direction of home.

“So how long have you and Svetlana been going on?” I ask, catching him off guard with the change of subject.

He cuts me a quick look, trying to gauge my feelings on the matter, but my face is unreadable, so he sighs and says, “About six months.”

“Is it serious?”

“In case you haven’t noticed, Ilya’s the only one bringing back women.”

“I’ve definitely noticed. When are you going to let Katya know?”

Andrei laughs. “Probably after I propose, and I’m not quite ready to do that.”

“I have no problem with the relationship,” I tell him. His shoulders visibly relax at my words. “I see the way she looks at you. Just don’t fuck around on her.”

“I wouldn’t do that to her,” he quickly says, and I believe him. Andrei’s never had a problem with having a different woman every night, but when he’s in a relationship, all that shit stops. In all areas of his life, he’s a very loyal guy.

“I’ve already contacted someone to come and take a look at the property. I want another house built as soon as possible because Ilya’s whoring around is getting on my nerves. There’s no rush or anything, but if the time ever comes where you need or want your own place, just let me know. There’s plenty of space to put in another house.”

“Thanks, Vasya.”

When my phone vibrates, I grab it and smile when I see a text from Nina. She’s gotten a lot more confident about reaching out to me, and I love seeing her bloom into this sexy, strong woman. It’s who she’s always been but was never allowed to be, and the transformation is erotic as fuck. I still love it when she gets shy and her cheeks heat up in a blush, but I also love it when she gets a determined look on her face and unzips my pants, not even bothering to fully undress me before sliding onto my cock. God, just the thought of it is starting to make me hard. Not wanting to turn this car ride awkward, I push the thoughts aside and read her text.

I was just thinking about you and wishing you were here.

I smile at how damn sweet she is.I wish I were there too, baby. We’re on our way back now. Want to go out for supper?

Sure. I’ll hurry up and shower. Ruslan and I were down by the water.

I laugh when she sends me a photo of a very wet and sandy Ruslan.

It took forever to get him clean. I had no idea he had so many layers of fur. Do you ever shave him?
