“You taste like pure heaven,” I tell her. “The sweetest fucking thing I’ve ever had in my mouth.”

Before she can say anything, I kiss her one last time and get up. My eyes run over her body, taking in the tits that are showing through her ripped bra, the hips that I want to grab onto and never fucking let go of, the thighs that are still parted in invitation, and the pussy that I could happily spend the rest of my life licking and kissing and fucking. A thought like that should send me running for the door, but all it does is make me wish I didn’t have to walk away.

Fuck, this is not good.

I drag my finger up her slit, soaking my finger one last time before bringing it to my lips and sucking it clean. Fucking delicious.

“I’ll be back later,kiska. This isn’t over.”

She smiles and stretches her arms above her head, giving a yawn. “Hurry back, Volodya.”

I walk out the door before I can crawl back into bed with her. The dogs are outside waiting for me when I open the door, so I give them each a quick pet and let them inside to guard Maddie while I’m gone. I take the Camaro this time and race through the streets, hitting the warehouse in record time, but still way later than I’d intended.

“Took you long enough,” Valeri says with a laugh. “How’s Maddie? Still breathing?”

“She’s sleeping,” I say and refuse to elaborate.

We walk in, and Ilya and Andrei both look like they’re fighting smiles. Further inside, the man Maddie recognized is sitting at a table with Nikolai and Vasily. Still speaking Russian, I ask Valeri, “What’d I miss?”

“His name’s Adam Fullerton. He’s been working with Scott for a while, but he doesn’t like the guy, says he’s unprofessional and he doesn’t trust him.”

“Why’s he doing business with him at all?”

Valeri leans closer, even though I really doubt the guy speaks Russian. “He used to supply the Irish with pills. When they left the city, it created a void, and at the time, Scott was the only one filling it.”

We step closer, and I give Vasily a nod and take the seat next to him. “About fucking time,” he says, and then smiles, “Great photo, by the way. I’ve already sent it to Nina.” Switching to English, he says, “Adam, this is my other brother, Vladimir. He runs the southern half of the city, so it’s his territory you’ve really been encroaching on.”

Adam meets my eyes, and he gets a small nod of respect when he doesn’t immediately turn away like most men do. He’s of average height and build, looks like he keeps himself in shape, but with the bulky hoodie on, it’s hard to tell. He could be hiding a little pot belly or an eight pack. His eyes look clear, though, and I’m not seeing anything that blatantly screams he samples his own wares.

“I didn’t know you weren’t okay with me selling here,” he says. “I wouldn’t have knowingly gone against you and sold in the Bratva’s territory. Scott assured me he was free to do business in the city, even hinted that he was working under you guys.”

“Oh did he now?” I ask, already planning Scott’s slow death in my head. He went from being a minor annoyance that we were willing to overlook once he stopped selling, to someone that we now have no choice but to take out, because no one fucking pretends to be a part of the Medvedev Bratva and lives to tell about it.

“In two weeks, he’s supposed to meet with me to pick up a big shipment. If you guys can wait that long, you’ll be able to catch him with his entire crew. He told me tonight that he’s going to be hiring some new men. When we settle on a location, I can text it to you. I’m not even going to bother showing up.” Adam holds his hands up in anI don’t even want to knowkind of gesture.

“When it’s over, let me know. I can either transition to a different city, or we can work out a deal. Either way, I have no desire to cross the Medvedev brothers.”

“What do you think?” Vasily asks me and Valeri in Russian.

I study Adam for a second. “He could be useful. Pills are a big business. We already have suppliers, but it wouldn’t hurt to have another.”

“I agree,” Valeri says. “If it turns out to not be lucrative enough, then we can just cut him loose.”

Adam watches us, and as calm as he’s trying to appear, I can see the way his fingers lightly shake when he scrubs a hand over his buzzed head. In his line of work, he’s no stranger to dangerous situations, but this is a step up for him, and he knows it. If we agree to work with him, it’ll be like a huge promotion. He’ll make a shit ton more money, but it’ll also put a bigger target on his back for others who are looking to take his spot.

Finally, Vasily puts him out of his misery. “We can wait two weeks. You can keep the money that Scott’s paying you for the shipment, and we’ll take the pills.”

Adam’s shoulders slump in relief, and when Vasily puts down three large stacks of money, Adam’s eyes widen a bit before he asks, “What’s that for?”

“That’s for the information and a taste of what you’ll be making if things go well between us.”

“If you cross us, though,” I add, giving him a dead stare, “you won’t like what happens.”

“I know,” he whispers. “I’ve heard enough stories about what little is left of a person when you decide you don’t like them.”

Valeri smacks the table hard enough to make Adam jump and then gives him a big grin. “Nice to have you on board,” he says like this is a job interview and we’ve just hired him into the fucking company. “You look like you could use a drink and a piece of ass. You know the strip club right down the road here on the corner?”

“Yeah,” Adam says, still looking a bit nervous.
