Licking her lips, she glanced down at her chest. Matt played her like a guitar, plucking at the swollen tips, wet with his saliva. The heaviness building in her belly bade her sink into him. Faded denim pressed against concrete, housed in thin gray sweats.
Sweet, delicious friction.
The rhythmic pulling of her nipples. His voice. Maybe that was what sent her hurtling toward that elusive place no one had ever taken her to before.
Gina held onto his hair.
“That’s it, baby. Let go…”
She did.
And for the first time in her life, she had an orgasm she didn’t have to give to herself. Shewasn’tbroken. Matt did that for her without his fingers ever straying from her breasts.
Why had it been so easy for her to come with him?
Still pondering the question, Gina massaged the matching neroli and basil scented lotion into her skin. The little black dress she’d chosen for the occasion was laid out on her bed. A short, rib-knit tank would work well with a pair of Chucks and her cropped denim jacket in case it got chilly later. Their first actual date. Matt was taking her to Navy Pier for dinner and to see the fireworks.
Her makeup on, hair curled into soft, loose waves, Gina was ready to go with hardly a moment to spare. She breezed past thekitchen, where Teo stood at the stove fixing himself something to eat—a tuna melt, judging by the smell of it.
“Hey.” His booming voice halted her. “Where you going?”
“Out.”
“No shit. I got eyes in my head, Gina,” he said, tapping his index finger against his temple. “I was thinking maybe we could go do something tonight—catch a movie or have a few drinks and listen to some blues at Kingston Mines.”
She hadn’t known her brother would be here. Everyone else was at Rossi’s, but if Tony was there, which apparently he was, then, of course, Teo wouldn’t be. For the sake of their sanity, and so they didn’t kill one another, their dad tried to keep them apart as much as possible, having them work opposite of each other.
“I can’t, babe,” Gina said, hugging him. “Sorry, I have a date.”
“Serious? When’s the last time you had one of those?” Teo looked surprised. Okay, it had been three years, but still. “Well, good for you. It’s about damn time. Who’s the guy? Is he picking you up? ’Cause I wanna meet him.”
“Uh… you already know him.”
“Please don’t tell me you caved, Gi.” He flipped his tuna melt and took it off the stove. “That asshole doesn’t deserve another shot after what he did, no matter what Mom says. He’s already shown you who he is, and he hasn’t changed.”
“I’m not going out with Vinny.” With a flip of her hair, she glanced at him from beneath her lashes and smiled. “But Matt should be here any minute now.”
“Matt?” His head slightly cocked, Teo took a step back as recognition flashed in his hazel-green eyes. “Get outta here. The only Matt I know is…Madone, no fucking way.”
“Yes fucking way.” She giggled.
“You… and Matt McCready?”
Why was that so far out of the realm of possibility? Sure, there was a time Gina believed it was too, but the man had beenpursuing her for months now. That had to mean something, didn’t it?
“Uh-huh.”
“He ain’t the guy that lived around the corner no more.”
Right, he’s a famous rock star on the cover of magazines now, and so? He’s still the same Matt, isn’t he?
“How’d you ever manage that?” he asked with an incredulous smirk.
She shrugged. “I delivered a pizza.”
“Tony’s gonna flip the fuck out.” Teo grinned, then. “Does he know?”
“No, and I didn’t think I needed his permission, either.”
