“Are all of these”—she swept her hand around in a half-circle—“…rooms… for me?”

Voso stood up very tall and looked around in the pattern of Mina’s hand-sweep. “Yes,” he said, almost quizzically.

Mina tried to hide the rush of pleasure that she felt. Trothplight certainly had its downsides, but if these were her rooms for the duration of the stay, it was several thousand steps up from the spaceport “sleeping pods,” which were really more like drawers.

“And… am I to wear this robe? To dinner?” Mina asked.

Voso, she could see, was not so much confused as not as fluent as Mozok. He needed some time to compute this question. He answered at last. “There is clothing laid out on your bed, in your sleeping chambers.”

“And my shoes?”

“They may be removed in your chambers,” Voso said, after looking down at her shoes and contemplating the question for a moment.

When he looked up at her, Mina was astonished to see what looked like genuine concern on his face. “I must urge you again to remain here. In your chambers. If you wish to leave, you may, once the storm has passed. But not before. It is very dangerous.”

Mina looked at him strangely, shaking her head. In spite of herself, she found Voso… what? Charming? Something like that. He was large and frightening, but beneath his tough exterior, she thought she could sense a side to him that was almost… tender.

Mina’s cheeks felt hot suddenly. She looked down at her shoes so that Voso would not see the flush of her face. “I don’t, um, see how to take them off…” she stammered.

Before she had even finished her sentence, Voso was moving. He knelt before her, bending over as his great right hand wrapped around her calf. His formidable muscles moved beneath the vibrant skin of his back, blocking her view of what he was doing. His touch, however—the feel of his strong, warm hand around her calf, was poisonously pleasurable. She could feel goosebumps racing from the back of her knee, along her upper thigh, to her buttocks.

She sincerely hoped that Voso did not feel them, or that he didn’t know what they were. She would have a very tough time, indeed, handling these two, if they became aware of her unbridled, unhinged, ludicrous feelings.

She could not see what Voso was doing, but she did feel his fingers stroke the back of her knee. The caress made her shudder, and the ache in her pussy, which had never gone away completely, returned with a hard, incredible throb. She wondered if he had done it on purpose or accidentally.

Either way, she could not believe the way her body, and subsequently her mind, were reacting to Voso’s mere caress.

He lifted her foot from one of the shoes after unwrapping the intricate straps, and his hand moved over the sole of her foot. He did it again when removing her foot from the other shoe.

Mina was almost shaking when he stood up again. But if Voso was aware of what he was doing to her or deliberate about it, he did not show it.

“I will come for you in one hour.”

Mina was still stunned, her skin tingling wherever Voso had touched her. A large part of her wanted to ask him to stay, to let her please him again, to get him to caress the burning skin of her bottom.

“Uh… yes. Okay. Of… uh, course,” Mina managed to stutter. “It’s just… uh…that I don’t really… I don’t have an Astrogodan, um, timepiece…”

Voso stared at her.

“I don’t know how long, um… your hours are.”

Voso looked at her, and she tried to quell the desire that brewed inside of her body.

“I will come for you,” he repeated.

Mina nodded. He opened the door and stepped backward into the corridor.

“Do not… pleasure yourself,” Voso said abruptly.

Mina blinked at him. “Wh…what?”

Voso extended his arm to the hidden panel on the outside wall before answering.

“I will know,” he said ominously. “I can smell it.”

Mina’s mouth opened, and she was about to say something without thinking it through, but Voso dipped his head and cut her off. “Mozok has forbidden it. You will be punished.”

The doors closed on his turning form, his face looking back toward the door as if to emphasize that he was keeping an eye on her.
