Gannon glanced between him and back into the room where Aneski was almost fully clothed. “I was worried about him, that’s all. I’m not like you.”
“Like me?” Flix pretending to think it over and hummed in agreement. “That’s right. Because Ani actually wants me.” He smirked triumphantly. “Rid yourself of those delusions while I’m still being kind enough to allow you to. Fail to do so, and I’ll end you, whether you’re Ani’s friend or not.”
That was all he’d wanted, the only reason he’d summoned the guy here under the guise of the invite having come from Aneski. Flix had needed him to see the two of them fucking, to see the way Ani responded tohimand get it through his thick skull that would never happen between the two of them.
“You have no right to do any of this to him,” Gannon said, causing Flix to turn back briefly when he started walking away. “He’s only with you because—”
“Don’t be dense,” Flix warned. “It’s pathetic. We both know how he feels and which of us he’d choose. Quit being a sore loser and move the fuck on already before I lose my patience and pluck out those pining eyes of yours.”
He walked away before Gannon could respond, point made. Hell, the point should have been made already with how loudly he’d had Ani screaming for him just now, but some people really couldn’t take a hint, no matter how hard they were bashed over the head with it.
The next person Flix needed to see was waiting not far from where he’d been talking with Gannon, the blond already looking sheepish as Flix approached. “Yuze.”
“Is that seriously your Onus?” Saint, who was standing next to Yuze, let out a low whistle. “Why does he look so familiar?”
“Just not the face.” Yuze held up his hands and requested. “I’ve got a modeling gig tomorrow and—”
Flix didn’t let him finish, slamming his fist into Yuze’s stomach.
Saint cursed as his friend caved in on himself and then again when Flix moved away so Yuze could no longer lean on him for support and toppled to the ground.
“What the hell?” Saint glanced between the two of them. “Why did you do that?”
Flix crouched next to Yuze, who was lying on his side, clutching his middle. “Want to explain to Saint what you did wrong?”
“I messed around with the leader of the Shepards,” Yuze mumbled.
“Holy shit!” Saint clearly hadn’t known, even though the two of them were the closest.
The crowd who was observing also seemed surprised by the news, but Flix didn’t pay them any mind.
“What were you thinking?” Saint scowled. “Sleeping with the enemy is some traitorous bull—”
“Be’tessi,” Anieski called to him and entered the room. He’d put his clothes back on but had left the shirt unbuttoned, not the least bit perturbed by the people staring as he made his way toward Flix.
Saint gasped and covered his mouth with both hands almost comically, glancing between Flix and Ani a few times.
“He was busy on his multi-slate when you took the blindfold off,” Yuze told Flix, who grunted. “He’s seeing someone.”
“Hopefully, he’s a better judge than you are and isn’t moving in on someone else’s man,” Flix drawled.
Yuze slowly sat up, still holding his stomach protectively. “I didn’t know.”
“If you’d mentioned you were fucking a Shepard, you would have. But now that you’re aware—”
“Whoa, it was just sex, I swear. There were no feelings involved ever. I’ll keep my distance from now on,” Yuze rushed to say.
“Why?” Aneski came to a stop next to Flix. “Aren’t we all friends now?” He took in the scene and then tilted his head. “Did youhithim? For what?”
“You know what.” He stood. “We’re doing a rerelease of Bind volumes two and three. Reshooting them both.” Once he’d read the message from Yuze, it’d been fairly easy to figure out and recognize him as the man Ani had fucked in those movies.
“That?” Ani had the nerve to chuckle. “That was just work. Why are you so upset about it? Yuze was just my actingpartner.” He sent the blond on the ground an apologetic look. “Sorry you got punched because of me.”
“He’s lucky I didn’t break his hands,” Flix said. “And what did I tell you about talking to other people while we’re here?”
“I was doing so on your behalf,” Ani replied. “It doesn’t count.”
Clever and so absolutely insufferable.
