“Okay, but until when?”
“Until I say otherwise,” he snapped.
“Why areyougetting so angry?”
“You’re trying to break up with me.”
“What?” Nate gave him an incredulous look. “No, I’m not.”
“Explain why you’d bring this topic up then?”
“Kaz, you’re the one who—”
“Enough.” He held up a hand. “Change the subject, or I really will bend you over the table and fuck you hard enough the only sounds you’re capable of making are moans and sobs.”
Nate gave him a dirty look. “Why does everything have to come back to sex with you? Can’t we just have a normal conversation? We’re dating, fine. You can dump me whenever you want, but I can’t do the same. Understood. Anything else?”
“Yeah,” he was pleased he was asking, “No more flirting with other people, whether it’s in front of me or not. If I find out you were hitting on someone behind my back, I’ll make you watch while I seduce and fuck them before—”
This time Nate was the one to hold up a hand. “I’m good.”
“I’m not,” he said darkly. “—Before I cut out their tongue and make you eat it.”
He went to put his fork down and Kaz stopped him.
“Don’t even think about it.”
“I’m hardly hungry now that you’ve put that image in my head,” Nate argued.
“Not my problem,” Kaz replied. “Eat. You’ll need your strength for round two.”
Nate stiffened.
“What? You asked for us to come back here so I could fuck you somewhere private,” Kaz reminded. “Don’t think for a second you’re getting out of it.”
“Can we please at least talk first?” Nate huffed.
“Sure, let’s talk about you coming back to work.”
“No, I meant—”
“If you’d rather not, you don’t have to,” Kaz talked over him. “That place is a dump. But still, it’s better than telling everyone my boyfriend is a barista.”
“What’s wrong with being a barista?”
“Nothing. Unless you’re a Vail University graduate. Your brother also bought your degree, didn’t he? Now who isn’t treating his things carefully.”
“That’s totally uncalled for, Kaz.”
“Is it?”
“Yes! There’s no reason for you to be mean. I haven’t done anything!”
“Except try to break up with me.”
Nate dropped his head into his hands and let out a sound of frustration. Then he inhaled deeply, and when he lifted his face, he seemed miraculously calmer. “This is getting us nowhere. Let’s try it this way instead. You’re going to give me back my clothes. In return, I’m going to eat the rest of the food you bought me. We’ll take it a step at a time, okay?”
Kazimir had no clue what he was talking about but…He did want Nate to eat so… “Okay. Deal.”
