Although, even if he had, it wasn’t like he’d get into that much trouble. Banks would most likely give him a slap on the wrist and order him on cleaning duty for a week or so. Big deal.

If that was his only worry, Rin would admit it easily and put an end to whatever uncalled-for power trip Kelevra thought he was due. But it wasn’t, and he couldn’t. If he agreed he’d blown it, he’d be asked the reason, and that he could not give. No matter the consequences.

“I’m an impatient person,” Kel told him.

Rin kept his mouth shut. In his head, he cursed the guy a million times, using all the languages he knew. He wished he could take a swing at that pretty face. Doubted anyone had ever had the gall to punch the Imperial Prince.

“Are you embarrassed that people are looking at you?” Kelevra asked then, sidling in closer so that something hard bumped against Rin’s lower back.

He gasped, completely shocked into silence this time.

Kelevra was turned on.

“Clearly you aren’t,” Rin said once he was able to regain his composure.

“Not at all,” he agreed, grinding into him for good measure, ignoring the way Rin actually tried leaning into the wall now instead of away. “I’ve never minded an audience, being watched sort of came with the territory. You however…you seem to want to keep under the radar. Why is that, I wonder?”

“Keep wondering.” So much for not flunking. Rin was about to lose it, and once that happened, there was no way Kelevra was going to pass him.

“Are you angry that I’m rubbing my erection over you,” he hummed, doing just that, rocking his hips a little more, “or that I’m doing it in front of others? I could stop.”

“Do.”

“I wasn’t finished,” Kel chuckled.

“If you called me here to fuck around, I’m not interested,” Rin said. “I’m sure you can find someone more than willing downstairs.”

“I’m not interested in them.”

“I’m not interested in you.”

“Are you interested in men?” Kelevra asked, smirking when Rin didn’t reply, clearly getting his answer anyway. “Do you find me attractive?”

Yes. “No.”

“Liar.” He grunted. “I can always sense a lie, call it the diplomat in me.”

“Diplomats are meant to be peacemakers.”

“And to do that, you need to be able to read someone. Uncover all their…proclivities.” It’d seemed like he’d wanted to use a different word but had changed tactics at the last second.

Rin’s hackles rose.

“You sure you don’t want to go the easy route?” Kelevra sounded like it didn’t matter to him one way or the other.

Rin should. He was good at making shit up, could just play the Imperial Prince the same way he played everyone else and be done with it. Though, he had this sinking feeling that Kelevra would somehow see through his lies, like that comment he’d just made hadn’t been in jest at all.

“I don’t suffer being lied to,” Kelevra said then, as if able to read his thoughts.

If he lied and pissed Kelevra off, he’d be flunked.

If he took a swing at him, he’d be flunked.

This was hardly the first time he’d found himself backed into a corner, so what was it about this particular situation that was making him feel well and truly trapped? It must be Kelevra’s status. Rin had never trusted anyone with power, had firsthand experience with how people like that typically wielded it.

“Tell you what,” Kelevra surprised him yet again by releasing him suddenly, stepping back to give Rin room to spin around and face him, “I’ll let you set the tone. How about that? Since it’s clear I’m five steps ahead of you, I’ll give you a chance.”

“A chance for what?” He rubbed the back of his neck, eyeing him suspiciously.
