“Wait. You don’t have to pick anyone else up, do you?”Please say no, please say no.
“No, you’re the only passenger today,” he says.
Thank God!
Maybe Dex isn’t going to the singles’ retreat. Maybe I can just relax and order room service and lounge by a pool. “Awesome, thank you so much.” I close my eyes and imagine how relaxing it will be.
I wake up with a startled gasp as the limo bumps down a long winding dirt driveway. Around the car on each side, the sky is blocked out by tall trees with thick bushy green foliage. I climb onto my knees and open the sunroof and poke my head out. Up in the distance, an enormous castle-like building sits in the middle of a field of wildflowers and curling walkways. “Oh my God. Seriously?” I snap a few pictures and videos and post them on all my social media then write a quick explanation of what my plans are for the weekend.
Instantly, my phone lights up with responses and comments, and I desperately try to answer everything to amp up the engagement. Everyone asks if Dex is coming too. These fuckers really like the angst that we have going between us.
The limo winds around, over a ribbon of gravel that twists through the front gardens like a maze. The hotel is all tans and whites with towers covered with crawling green ivy dotted with dusty rose-colored blooms. I already want to stay here forever and live in the highest room.
The driver pulls up to the front entrance and helps me from the car. I try to tip him, but he refuses to accept any money; he just gives me a small wink and tells me to enjoy myself fully.
“I’ll try,” I say with a small smile. After he pulls my luggage from the trunk, he returns to the driver’s side of the car and pulls it around to the back of the enormous building. I wonder if he gets to stay here and partake in the activities Gail was so excited about.
I take a few pictures and videos, then slip my phone into my purse, and pull up the handle of my small suitcase and start rolling it through the front doors.
The inside of the lobby is more lavish and extravagant than outside. I can’t even begin to imagine what the prices are for a place like this. I wheel my bag to the front desk, where an extremely handsome man catches me so off-guard I forget how to speak correctly.
High cheekbones, a square angular jaw, and a mouth that is just too exquisite for a man. His eyes are a stunning shade of blue and seem to be making promises to me I don’t quite understand yet. “Ms. Nash,” his perfect lips say, “we’ve been awaiting your arrival.”
I manage to push out a barely inaudible squeak and a deranged smile.
“My name is Lucas and I’m here for any of your needs,” he says as his long fingers tap over a small flat keyboard behind the opulent counter. His eyes dart up and catch mine as he slides a keycard over the top. “You’ll be staying in room seven, the lavender room.”
I garble out another stupid sound.
“Follow me and I’ll escort you to your room,” he says warmly, as he walks the length of the counter and steps out to my side.
I try not to ogle him, but it’s hard. And so is he, seriously, there’s a monster-sized bulge jutting out from the front of his slacks that I swear is straining against his too-tight material threatening to burst out to greet me. I try desperately to keep my gaze directed to his eyes, but he smiles lazily at me knowing full well I just checked out his junk.
Lucas brushes his hand next to mine and grasps the handle of my suitcase. I pull my hand away like he’s made of fire. “Uh, thanks.”
“It’s my pleasure,” he says, in a husky voice.
I wonder if they mandate everyone who works here to take ecstasy or something, because the lusty-sexual vibes rolling off this guy are insane. I want to take my bag back and rub antibacterial cream all over it. I follow him to the elevator and think about it all the way to my room.
A room which is twice the size of my apartment and equipped with a sex swing and fully stocked sex-toy bar. I walk in after Lucas and stare idiotically at the lines of dildos and vibrators, variously sized butt plugs and anal beads, that are displayed in half a dozen shelves as soon as you walk inside. Each item wrapped in a thin layer of protective plastic.
“Good God, what the hell is this place?” I whisper under my breath.
Lucas chuckles and waves his hand over the room. “I take it this is your first visit with us?”
“Uh huh,” I mumble, spinning slowly around to take in all the room’s lavishness. A king-sized bed with a canopy. A long plush couch and array of sex chairs and chaises are scattered around the room.
“Is this room satisfactory? If you prefer your stay with a bit more kink, we have rooms with bondage crosses and caged coffee tables.”
“Seriously?” I stammer.
“Oh yes, I’m quite serious. We have everything here. Anything you could possibly imagine or desire.” He walks to the sex bar area and picks up a laminated menu. “Take a look at all we have to offer. Your stay is fully paid for, you have the unlimited package this weekend, so you can enjoy all the amenities our hotel has to offer you without any extra cost. This weekend is all about your pleasure,” he smirks and lowers his voice, “or pain.”
Holding the menu, I feel my jaw almost hit the floor, I feel incredibly naïve and unprepared.
