“I don’t know. I have work tomorrow.”
“I’ll make it worthwhile.”
She studied him as though she were considering it. “You have until eleven to convince me.”
“Then, I’d better get to work.”
ChapterTen
At ten-fifty-five, Rune collapsed next to her, his breath coming in pants.
Astra knew she was breathing just as hard, and her entire body was twitching and shaking from the aftermath of three extremely excellent orgasms.
“Wow,” she breathed. Then, she laughed because she sounded just like him.
“Glad.” Pant. “You.” Pant. “Approve.”
“I think we need to work on your cardiovascular fitness though.”
His only answer was to nip her shoulder, which made her laugh again.
She started to shift, but his arm came around her, her back to his front.
“So, are you staying?”
Astra looked over her shoulder at him. “I don’t know.”
“Give me five more minutes and I’ll convince you.”
“I don’t know if I could handle anymore of yourconvincing,” she said with a smile. Then, she yawned.
“See? You’re tired. You should stay and sleep.”
“But what if I have dragon breath in the morning?”
“I’ll survive somehow.” He kissed the place that he’d nipped earlier. “Please stay with me.” He paused as if thinking and finished with, “I’ll bring you coffee and breakfast in bed.”
“At five-thirty, which is when I’ll have to get up?”
Rune winced, then shrugged. “It’s one morning. It won’t kill me.”
Her lips twitched. “Okay, I’ll stay, but I need to get my go-bag out of my car.”
He blinked at her. “Your go-bag?”
“Yeah, I never know when I’m going to have to leave at a moment’s notice for work, so I keep a bag packed in the car. Just in case.”
“Were you a Girl Scout?” he asked, leaning back so she could turn over to face him.
“No, but my dad would drag my sisters and me out to the woods on the weekends for ‘survival training.’ We despised it but we learned the value of being prepared for anything.”
“I’ll go get your bag. You can borrow one of my shirts to sleep in,” he said.
“I don’t think it would cover much,” she replied. “I’m almost as tall as you are.”
“Well, yeah, that’s the whole point.”
She laughed as he rolled over and climbed out of the bed. “When you get back, there’s something we need to talk about.”
