“Shit on a stick!” She started grumbling and I couldn’t quite understand what she was saying, but that was probably for the best. “Fine, maybe you should listen to your brain after all.”
I started laughing.
When I calmed down, she said, “You have your answer already, Cari. Don’t waste any time. We both know life is too short.”
And, once again, tears filled my eyes. “I won’t.”
“Your aunt’s house has a spare bedroom, right?”
I laughed. “Yes, it does.” Then, I paused. Shit. Could she even come visit me here? I’d have to ask Bernie what to do. I didn’t want to stop seeing my bestie just because I’d fallen in love with a vampire. She’d been with me through some of the toughest times in my life.
“Good. I love your face.”
“I love your face, too.”
“Answer my texts or I’m going to post that video on Facebook.”
“What video?” I asked.
“You know the one.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” I gasped.
“Answer my texts and you won’t find out.”
I laughed. “You’re evil.”
“I know. That’s why you love me.”
I sighed. “Thanks for the advice, Sela. I really do love you like a sister.”
She was quiet for a second before she cleared her throat. Her voice sounded thick when she spoke. “Stop being all mushy and go catch that man’s dick.”
I rolled my eyes. “Yes, ma’am.”
“And text me all the naughty details!”
“You mean like how he gives me multiple orgasms?” I asked.
“Bitch!” she gasped.
“Bye, bitch!”
“Bye!”
When we disconnected, I finally had my answer.
I wanted Daniel Ayres.
And if I really was his soulmate as Poppy had said, he wanted me, too.
Even if he didn’t, I wasn’t going to give him up without a fight.
He might be a vampire, but it was time for him to experience what it was like to be kidnapped by a human.
I rubbed my hands together and grabbed a notepad and pen off the kitchen counter.
If I wanted to catch him by surprise, I was going to need a very good plan and a little magical help from my favorite uncle.
