“An affair? Really? That was your excuse was it?” she scoffs as she walks past me, “That is rich coming from you.”
My heart stops at that point, and denial instantly consumes me.
“What is that supposed to mean?” I demand, trying to hide my fear as I follow her out of the house.
She stops and turns to look at me, and the heartbreak shines back at me, the betrayal, it nearly destroys me right here and now. Fuck.
“Is that what you told yourself, Trigger?” she sneers, and I flinch at the use of my road name, something she has never called me before.
“Don’t ever fucking call me that again,” I threaten as I step closer, her vanilla and coconut smell hitting my senses, bringing me home.
“Why?” she asks, “We’re no longer together.”
“You are not fucking leaving me!” I growl lowly and she shakes her head as she slowly removes her wedding ring and not even bothering to give it to me, she drops it on the floor completely tearing me apart but dizziness soon fills me when she shocks the shit outta of me and states, “How do you expect me to stay with a lying cheating scumbag like yourself?” she takes a step back as my face pales and curls her lip before snapping, “For months, no, for a year, you were screwing my high school bully, bringing her to the clubhouse under the pretense of her being a clubwhore. I want nothing to do with you ever again.”
My eyes blur, and she uses my stumped state as she climbs into the car and quickly drives off.
“Trigger?” I hear Anchor call, and I quickly shake my head before grabbing her ring off the floor and I turn to see where Ash has gotten to, only to curse seeing her drive down the dirt road.
I quickly run after her, shouting, “Ashley!”but as I get around the clubhouse, she’s pulling out of the gate and I roar out in agony as my son waves in the back seat before the club's truck pulls up next to me and Anchor snaps, “Get in!”
I quickly climb in as brothers come outside to see what the shouting is about, but we ignore them as Anchor speeds off down the road after my fucking family.
“How in the fuck did she find out?!” I snap as Anchor chases after Ash, and he asks, “Did you really think you could keep it from her? The truth always comes out, brother, fucking believe me.”
I look out the windshield, watching Ashley's tailgate as my stomach drops that she’s leaving me, that she’s using my affairas the excuse when she’s been fucking someone too while Anchor speeds off her, reminding me of his heartbreak.
Anchor met a woman who was in a relationship.
None of us knows who she is, only that he fell madly in love with her, wanting to claim her. He split her and her boyfriend up, made her his, only for her to run back to her boyfriend, cheating on Anchor.
It's safe to say he no longer believes in love or the one, and hasn’t spoken to the girl again.
Ten minutes later, we pull up beside Ash’s car, and I go to climb out, seeing them walk into a room on the bottom floor, but Anchor grabs my arm, making me growl at him.
He puts his hand up and says lowly, “You are not in your right mind, brother, let me,” just as three bikes pull up beside us, Doc, Stone, and Tank all looking at me with concern.
I swallow hard but nod, and Anchor climbs out before walking over to the room Ashley has rented, with Tank following him, and I climb out of the truck and lean against it, my jaw locked.
“Brother?” Doc questions, but I don’t take my eyes off that door, my hand clutching Ashley’s wedding ring tight in my fist as I admit, “Someone told her about Virginia, she left me.”
“Fuck,” Stone whispers just as Ashley opens the door, and, shocking us, she allows the brothers into her room.
“That has to be a good sign, right?” Doc murmurs, and I bite my bottom lip hard, her unfinished tattoo on my chest tingling.
We don’t say anything for the five minutes they’re in that room, but when they come out alone, my stomach drops.
“Well?” Doc asks as they get close, and Anchor shakes his head as Tank hands me papers, and I frown, taking them, but bile rises seeing what they are.
“Separation agreements,” I choke as my legs give out and I slide down the truck, my ass hitting the floor, and I drop my head, my tears instantly falling and everything around me blurs.
She’s giving up on us when she found a lover, she’s giving up when I’m still fighting for her...
“What the fuck have I done?!” I choke back a sob before arms wrap around my head, and my body shakes.
I should have just spoken to her, confronted her…
What the fuck have I done!
