As I headed down the street, I texted Maniac.

Me: Change of plans.

When I got to the house, Maniac was already there. He hadn’t texted me back. Hopefully, he got the message and wasn’t in there naked or anything. The last thing I want to do is traumatize Zion.

“Let’s go see what uncle in there doing,” I told Zion as I removed him from his seat and grabbed his bag.

We went up to the front door. I unlocked it and we entered. Maniac had Silk’s “Freak Me” playing soon as I opened the door. I knew then this man was running around here somewhere with no clothes on.

“Close your eyes,” I instructed Zion.

“Maniac!” I shouted his name, knowing he probably wasn’t gon’ hear me over the music.

“Wait right here,” I ordered Zion as I took the stairs up to the second floor.

I strutted down the hallway to our bedroom where the music was coming from. Pushing the door in, I found Maniac lying in the center of our bed with a rose in between his teeth. The man was naked as the day he was born. On a tray next to him was a bottle of chocolate syrup, some strawberries and a bouquet of red roses. His dick was rock hard. I know he’s about to be disappointed.

Going over to the dresser, I turned off the music. “What are you doing?” He leaped from the bed.

“Zion came back with me. Had you checked your phone, you would’ve known that.”

“You’re bullshitting me, right?”

“Do it look like it? He’s downstairs right now. Put on some clothes before he comes up here.”

Maniac slung the rose across the room. We were about to have a child of our own. He might as well get used to stuff like this. We will no longer be able to have sex whenever we want. We won’t be able to do a lot of stuff around the baby. This just practice for him.

Stepping to him, I cupped his face, forcing him to stare me into the eyes. “I promise that I’ll make it up to you.” My lips collided with his. He gripped me by the ass, pulling me deeper into his frame. “Later… okay?” I peeled away from him and headed toward the door. Turning, I said, “Put some clothes on and meet us downstairs.”

Maniac

A WEEK LATER

Isat there at my desk, staring at the numbers. In the last couple of weeks, shit started to decline. Stuff wasn’t adding up. The distributors weren’t selling as much of our liquor as they normally would, and it’s not just the Maniac Noir either. It was all of the Saint-Mercier liquor.

A knock at my door grasped my attention. “Yeah?”

The door pushed in and Heavy entered the room. He closed the door behind him before approaching my desk.

“What?” From his facial expression, I can tell that something was wrong.

“After Big John popped back up and you had me look into his ass, well Aaliyah still been digging and you’re not gon’ believe this shit.” He tossed a folder onto my desk. I picked it up and opened it.

After skimming the documents, I stared up at Heavy. “And you’re sure this is right?” He nodded.

“Where the fuck is that nigga now?”

“He’s at his house.”

I powered down my computer and stood to my feet. “Let’s go pay that bitch a visit,” I said and stepped from around my desk. Heavy and I exited the office.

Stopping by Tina’s desk, I said, “I’m heading out for a bit. Hold all of my calls.”

She nodded and we exited the building. Heavy hit the fob on his Cadillac and I jumped into the driver’s seat of my car. After dealing with Big John, I got other business to attend to.

I followed Heavy to Big John’s house. Ever since the nigga came back, shit’s been off with him. He hadn’t been around the family like that. Wren be inviting him, but it’s like he don’t be wanting to come. I ain’t care because I didn’t really care for him like that, especially after how he did Wren and at one point, he was the fucking enemy. Shit, I’m sure he still is after what Heavy had just told me. Everything was all making sense now.

We pulled up to Big John’s house. The shit was an average ass house out in Spring Valley. It had two floors, but it wasn’t anything extra. It’s some shit he jumped and bought when he came back. Nigga barely spent any time here. Every time I looked up, he was always gone somewhere. I wouldn’t be shocked if he had another house somewhere else.
