“You’re not working the bar?”

“Nah. We’re just covering until the two guys scheduled get here.”

Between Slone and Ewen, I never spent much time alone while I sat at the bar. The three shots I took churned with jealousy in my guts as I watched one Daddy Dom after another approach my boy. The last thing I needed was more alcohol. So, I switched to sipping soda while my boy pranced around the kink club’s dance floor in those fucking heels looking like a Daddy’s walking wet dream.

I nearly came out of my fucking skin when one guy touched Aiden. It was innocent enough, but the thought of that fucker’s hands on my boy made me see red.

“How you doing?” Slone asked.

“How the fuck do you think I’m doing?”

“That good, huh?”

“Fuck off.”

Slone laughed, earning a glare. I couldn’t rearrange the asshole’s face who thought touching my boy was a good idea.

“You got it bad.”

Slone’s words touched a nerve, and I grumbled, “Imma say it again. Fuck off.”

My gaze found Aiden on the floor, not that my eyes had strayed far the whole night. Ollie and Aiden were laughing and dancing with a group of other boys. Every so often, Aiden’s eyes would find mine, and my heart would flip over in my chest.

Ewen set a fresh soda down and said, “Your boy’s a hot commodity, or he would be if he weren’t already taken. He’s leaving a trail of potential broken hearts all over my dance floor.”

“Did you and Slone make a bet on who could get the biggest rise outta me?”

“No, but that’s a good idea. Yo, Slone! C’mere!”

“Whaddya want?”

“I want you to c’mere!”

Slone flipped Ewen off with a smile and went back to flirting with a guy at the other end of the bar.

“Hey, bubby!”

I turned toward the childish voice, my breath catching in mythroat. Aiden stood next to Ollie, who bounced on his toes as if he couldn’t contain himself.

“Hey, bug. What’s up?”

“Why’re you working? Can I get a fizzy drink that makes me fuzzy?”

“Because someone called in sick, and yes, and no.”

“But…”

“No buts. You know the rules. No fuzzy drinks when I’m working and can’t watch out for you.”

The little deflated, all the energy disappeared, but I barely spared him any attention. My eyes were on my boy, who I wanted to pull into my lap more than anything, but I couldn’t, and it seriously pissed me off.

“Mercer.”

Aiden’s eyes met mine. A tiny smile lifted one side of his mouth. “Coach Storm. Having fun tonight?”

“Yes, but I’m getting ready to leave. Hawk’s alone.” I stood, reached out to Ewen, then Slone, to shake their hands. “Slone, it was nice meeting you. I’ll see you guys around. Mercer, Ollie, you two have a nice night. Be safe.”

My gaze barely left Aiden’s face as I said my good nights. Then I walked away, pausing behind Aiden to say, loud enough for those around us to hear, “Mercer, not too late. It’s a free weekend, but you still need your rest.”
