Caden snorted. "Shocking. You gonna be there?"
"Damn straight."
"Good. For the record, I believe Logan was a patsy more than a willing accomplice."
Those words caused me to pinch the bridge of my nose. "You might be right, but I have to see it go down."
"Understandable. How's Kinsley?"
"Better now that we're back in Boston, but missing our son."
"Maddie wants to come back, but I told her no way in hell. Not until Operation Dine and Die is complete."
The title he’d given the op made me chuckle. "Agreed."
"Stay safe, brother."
"Always. Give Maddie our love."
"I'll do that."
"We should get going," Kinsley said as soon as I hung up.
"Yeah." But I stared at the wall instead.
"Burke?"
Finally, I looked over at her. "Hm?"
"Where did you go just then?"
"Strategizing." I went to the cabinet by the TV and pulled out a box of cigars.
Kinsley laughed. "You're stressed."
"What?" I really wasn't paying attention, just thinking over what our next steps would be.
"Mr. Brown told me you only smoke cigars when you're extremely stressed."
"Yes, I suppose he's right."
Walking to me, she wrapped her arms around me and leaned back enough to look at my face. "We've got this."
Searching her expression for any sign of hesitation, I was pleased to find none. "We'll need to wear black and we'll need to go soon. Once it's done, my men will take care of clean-up, and we'll come straight back here."
"Yes, sir."
As I'd told her to, she dressed all in black. I handed her a balaclava to pull on over her head, then put on my own.
"How do we leave undetected?"
"We walk down the street until we find the car Oliver stashed for us. They're not far off, just lying low and keeping watch on the property."
"Will he join us?" she asked.
I shook my head. "This is one of those things we'll do alone. They'll surround the warehouse, though."
"In case something goes wrong?"
